Assassins Creed: Revelations

I haven't started the story yet on Revelations as I'm still trying to finish Brotherhood but I have popped it in to play some multiplayer with my friends. I was curious from the start on how the multiplayer would play out and was very happy with what I saw. I'm looking forward to getting to finally play the main story on Revelations despite the mixed reactions I've read thus far.

If you are enjoying the mulitplayer in Brotherhood than you will love it in ACR as its improved

Yeh, I just couldn't get into the MP in Brotherhood, and its really what kept me from getting the Platinum. But Revelations was much more enjoyable and every now and then I pop it in to play a few rounds.

You couldn't really do anything nearly that cool in the games. :hehe:

I loved the MP in brotherhood, but clearly it's vastly improved in revelations. I always have a great time with it, even if I didn't play it for some time now. Can't wait to try AC3 MP, since it will obviously be even better!

I got the 100% Sync cheevo yesterday and while I was working on the final one I wanted to punch whoever designed that last level right in the ear.

"So, how can we close off Ezio's story? An awesome sneaking level? A cool, action-packed fight? Maybe some free-running through classic locales like Assassins Creed is known for?"
"NO! I'VE GOT IT! Let's make it a mini-game like level where you're dodging buildings and stuff while you hang from a parachute!!"
"Brilliant!!!!"

:o

I'm still upset that I am one mission away from 100% sync in Brotherhood, and the mission I'm missing is the one where you can't get hit while in the tank. I pretty much gave up on that game since I didn't even want to bother with the MP trophies.

Im assuming the area you cant get through without getting hit is the end section since everything leading up to that is fairly easy. In that case, theres actually a small glitch that can help you throuh it. At he end there is a giant gate you have the break and go throuh to trigger all the enemies. Do that, but as soon as the enemies trigger, go back. The anims will have created a wall that yoire not supposed to pass but you can, youll also be getting that white matrix looking effect as if you were about to desynch but you never actually do.

Look it up on youtube if you didnt understand my explanation. Thats were I learned of it since it was my last mission to 100% as well.

I just finished this! Since this is the last game featuring Ezio, I took my time here more. Turkey looks really good. There are a couple of skyscrapers and I was just like wowed when I was up there looking at the view. Out of all the five Ac games, this is second after Unity with the best looking location. I liked all the areas except for two are accessible after sequence 2, so I've finished finding most of the collectibles and purchased all the shops before sequence 3. Unlike in Ac2/Acb, I always didn't check if certain areas are already accessible or not. Though the map is a bit small especially compare to Brotherhood, though I liked that travelling here doesn't feel tiring. I can just run all the way unlike in Ac2/Acb, I needed the horse or I used the fast travel. Also, I prefer swimming to the other island instead of the auto boat ride. The weapons were alright. When it comes to Ac games, I usually just stick to 1 unless I really need to use another weapon. The hook blade through is more useful than the swords and the axes especially in fights. The variety to bombs was cool, though the only bombs I really need are the smoke bombs. So the other bombs, I didn't really use them similar to the poisons and small knives. I kinda didn't like how the bomb ingredients/stations were so scattered in the location, like they could have just included them in the weapons shop.

My routine in this game: finish an entire sequence, find the collectibles, finish an entire sequence, complete a set of side missions, finish an entire sequence. It kinda helped me get into the main story more. Ac1 will probably be the only Ac main game that I will not get to play, unless there's gonna be a ps4 port someday or a future ps5 that features backwards compability. So I liked the opportunity of playing Altair, especially I only expected him to be a npc.

The side quests were noticeably fewer. I knew this game is the shortest in Ezio's trilogy but I didn't expect the side quests to be fewer than Brotherhood, especially no assassination contracts? Brotherhood had so much side quests. I am not really complaining as it meant less work for me, but it was a weird that they lowered the amount of content. I wanted to do more side stuff as I didn't want to rush finishing the main story, and there were times that I looked at my map and there was just nothing to do but to activate the next main mission. The Assassin recruiting here is much less exciting than Brotherhood. My three assassin babies were killed off during abroad missions and that never happened to me in Brotherhood. I didn't like when I have to repeat the cycle. Though I liked that the assassin recruits had their set of missions with Ezio and they were interacting with him instead of just going to the mission menu. I liked the book quests, I wish there were more. The faction hq missions... just two and Brotherhood had like at least 15. The piri reis were short, and it jumped right through the destination and when I failed, it didn't start from the very beginning. There were only 2 secret locations, 1 of them isn't available. I didn't complete the four guild challenges as there were more like a check list, and I didn't find all the animus lights. Though this is the first out of 5 ac games that I have only completely skipped 1 thing and that's the Desmond's missions. I have done everything except for those 5 segments, as I hate first person perspective and I just watched the whole thing on YouTube, it was quite boring. The Lost Archive which was only accessible outside the main game was a skip as well. I really liked that I didn't skip a lot of things but there weren't a lot to do.

The main story was short as well, especially the last two sequences, well the last one was basically a long cutscene. The new characters here didn't really intrigue me. I didn't like the Ezio was like 25 years older, it felt like a different person. Once again, Desmond didn't do much here, he had a smaller role here compare to Brotherhood. The whole thing at the end was interesting, but again it felt abrupt and didn't really answer things. I wasn't pleased with the story. As Ezio's final chapter, it wasn't the send off I was anticipating for. While I didn't know Altair as I didn't play the first game but I wish he had more role in this and his ending was kinda sad but not satisfying to watch. There wasn't really a hard mission here. From the ones I've finished, this is the shortest and easiest Ac game. I liked the missions that was like pure action, like trying to chase a boat, trying to kill soldiers while in a parachute, the rope sequence at the start. I wish this game had more action segments like those.

The things I didnt like: everytime I have purchased a landmark or opened a shop, my criminal level went up so after 1 to 2 purchases, I ran my @** off to the herald. And once your criminal level is full, they will attack one of your dens and that defend the den mission, I didn't want to do it again. One time, my templar alert level was full and there was no herald, well they were there but they weren't accepting a bride probably because of the last story mission. Then my den was attacked and I had to capture it again, it was such a hassle. Then the graphics, its good but it also looks too sharpened. A lot of things looks grainy, the wood, the ground, Ezio's clothes.

After five back to back Ac games, I still don't feel the fatigue yet. I'm already getting used to transitioning quickly into the next game like in terms of its features and controls. I tried to really take my time here but in less than a week, I finished it because it was so short and I felt like they could have really added more missions. I felt the location was kinda wasted because they weren't a lot to do. I have to say from the Ezio trilogy, this one feels the most different. Different country, the bombs, the book shops, Altair being playable, Desmond in some weird dimension. So in presentation, this doesn't feel like another Ezio game. But again, I wish Ezio went out in a bang. This game was quite short to me and right now, I just feel bit disappointed because I was enjoying it, I really liked the location and it just ended.

Story - 6.5
Gameplay - 7.5

Anyway, now I'm done with the Ezio games, I can't wait to play Rogue as its been sitting in my shelf for a week now.
