Assassins Creed: Revelations

That's a cool trailer. Probably took a long time to make since they had to use stop motion.

LOL, I've been wondering when the ACIII thread would either be renamed on a new one would be created.

Anyways, I've been replaying ACII and it's even better than I remember it, especially since now I know more about Altair and what he did with piece of Eden and just how important the Codex is. I'll probably replay ACB after this just to get a better look back at what happens, but I'm really excited to see where this story goes in ACR and how they tie up Ezio and Altair.

Should I get Assassin's Creed 1? I've played 2 & Brotherhood, so I think it'd be fitting to play the whole series. Plus, it'd give me some more hype for Revelations. But I've heard alot of crappy things about it.

That question gets asked a lot and a lot of people on these forums would say no, but personally I would say yes. The gameplay can get repetitive and it is definitely inferior to AC 2 and Brotherhood, but IMO the story is still great, the cities are cool and it's nice to remember where this series came from. Personally, I have more patience with playing older games so I don't know if you'd be the same or not.

Yeah, I almost gave up on the first one completely just because of the training stuff early on, and I ended up putting it off for more than a month. But I decided to grind it out during the weekend because I read how short the game was, but as repetitive as the game got, when I got to the last two memories, the game really picked up for me and I didn't regret playing it. Sure you can read up on what happens, but at least for me, its not quite the same as experiencing it first hand.

Yes play it. It wont kill you to go through it and its not nearly as bad as some make it out to be. Dont listen to anyone that says skip it. Best thing to do, go to Gamestop, pick it up used, beat it within 7 days and take it back for a full refund. Win, win.

Or keep it so you have the whole collection, since it'll only be a few bucks.

So is there any actual significance to Altair having children with a Templar, or was it just for the sake of showing that Altair had children and that that's where Desmond's and Ezio's line started?

As far as we know it was just to show he had children. And didn't she become an Assassin anyway?

I think to show he had children, but also obviously to show Desmonds ability to access memories without the Animus, which i'm still hoping will feature in AC 3. I flagged after AC 2 that it would be awesome if Desmond becomes the first Assassin to be able to access memories on the fly, without an animus. Lucy hints at it in AC 2, saying no one has been able to survive the bleeding effect hallucinations without going mad, and we see the useful applications of this ability in Brotherhood, when Desmond is following Ezio's ghosts or echoes. We also see Desmond exploring his genetic memories outside of the Animus construct in this 'black room' in Revelations. I think if they keep this ability as a feature for AC 3 it lends itself to a really unique form of gameplay, with Desmond tracking down artifacts or something and being able to see the present day and past incarnations of a location with the press of a button or something. That could be really cool, as well as it could lend a new level of variety to cities or environments, if you get the past and present version of a city to play around in.

Absolutely! Don´t even think twice about it.
Many say that the game falls into repetition and...yes it does, but even with that, it´s a great game.
Assassin´s Creed is one of the best 3 best franchises born this gen.

On other new, bought Brotherhood two week ago....going to start play it this weekend

Does anyone else think that the weapon Ezio needs to find the seals for is The Sword?

Although I suppose it could just be information, like the end of the other games. After all, they mention that TWCB fought with information.

I just saw the trailer for AC: Ember, which is supposed to lead up to Revelations, and if its really true to the overall storyline, then it looks like Ezio does have at least one child, which should reveal a little more about Desmond's lineage.

Also, IGN just posted some off-screen MP videos.

Looks like they'll be a MP beta next month.

Today, Ubisoft revealed that Assassin's Creed Revelations will receive a multiplayer beta on the PlayStation Network as a "timed exclusive." Beginning on September 3rd, PlayStation Plus subscribers and Uplay members will be able to download the beta via the PSN.

Gamers will have access to nine characters (The Sentinel, The Vanguard, The Guardian, The Vizier, The Thespian, The Deacon, The Bombadier, The Trickster and the Champion), three maps (Knight's Hospital, Antioch, and Constantinople), and four modes (Wanted, Manhunt, Deathmatch and Artifact Assault).

The beta will run until September 11th. There's no word on when the beta will come to Xbox 360, though using language like "timed exclusive" suggests that it will eventually find its way to Xbox Live.

I tried to, but I could never get past the matchmaking screen.

I tried it out for the trophies and I had some good games, but then I was getting beat down so badly that I just decided to give up on the trophy hunt.

It took me a while to get the hang of but I really enjoy the Brotherhood MP. The secret is just taking your time. I put more effort into playing defense than attack, and it always works out. It's not about getting a high body count, you can still place first with only a few high scoring kills depending on tactics. The mistake a lot of new players make is just running around, charging directly at people. Sure you get the kill, but then your hunter spots you and has the time to plan an epic, high scoring assassination on you.

I find it really refreshingly different from other deathmatch focussed games.

I really hope this means we get to play as both Ezio and Altair. I'm not sure if they confirmed this back when the game was announced.

I love the multiplayer in Brotherhood, and I'm sure I'll love it here.
