I normally don't post about my professional life but I passed my Engineering Exam. For those not familiar with the engineering exam, it's like the boards a Doctor, Nurse or Lawyer take to be certified.

I found out today and I've been pretty much on a natural high ever since. I'm probably going out tomorrow to celebrate.

Anybody else here certified or licensed? Architects, Accountants?

all that humor, and your going to waste it on . . . engineering  :o

seriously though, a extend a very sincere congratulations . . . I'm sure you've worked VERY hard for that honor, dude

Yeah, I'll admit I'm not passionate about my job. It's good and I usually know what I'm doing but it does pay really well.

:yay:

I'll be graduating from the apprenticeship this summer and will have to take the Journeymen exam to get my license. Big money as well.

were the exams hard erzengel?
I didn't pass on the first try GAH. And there were moments I was just like "Oh Sh't, I don't know what I'm doing." The next time I was more relaxed. And this worked for me it might not necessarily work for you but for me, it wasn't so much that I knew everything, I just had to make sure that I knew where to find it. It's open book exam.

For the rest of you, the engineering exam is broken up into 2 sessions, morning and afternoon.

The morning is a series of 40 questions ranging in questions (structural, environmental, transportation, geotechnical and water resources). The morning session is usually the easier non complicated questions.

The afternoon is also a series of 40 questions but this time you have to choose between the 5 subjects and the questions are more geared towards the subject you choose and are a lil bit more difficult.

You usually finish with time to spare in the morning while the afternoon you push it to the limit.

The worst part is the waiting. I took the exam at the end of October, I found out today. It really sucks.

Nursing boards in NJ are so much better. It's all on computers, and they stop you if you get a certain amount right so you kinda know you passed.

YAY, now Erz gets to be a nerd for a living :) Congrats, I'm sure that exam is SUPER hard.

I had an almost an "I don't care" attitude this time when I took it. I think it helped because you are just trying to get through it.

The worst part next to the waiting was telling my boss when I didn't pass.

Neat part is I do get to put those 2 letters after my name. (PE)

I think I'm going to start doing that on all my cards. :o

Happy Valentine's Day, Sweetie.

I love you.
