Ew.com has a poll asking BATMAN Fans to vote for their favorite BATMAN live action Actor. :batty:

The Choices are

1. Christian Bale -BATMAN BEGINS,THE DARK KNIGHT

2. Adam West - The 1966 BATMAN : Tv Series

3. Michael Keaton - BATMAN89 & BATMAN Returns

4. George Clooney - Batman & robin

Sadly for any fans of Val Kilmer from BATMAN FOREVER was not a candidate in this poll [which I think is a load of Bull, He has more of a right to be their than Clooney Who nearly destoryed The BATMAN movie franchise.]

Anyways vote for your favorite BATMAN .

THE DARK KNIGHT

I voted for clooney. He is the only true batman here.

Bale of course.

Hah, Kilmer didn't make the list and Adam West is beating Keaton.:woot:

Tagline : "Holy Sequels, Robin! Their sure have been a lot of version of THE DARK KNIGHT"

I found that to be a little joke about the upcomming Batman sequel THE DARK KNIGHT . :batty:

Well duh I'm kidding. Who in their right minds would vote for Clooney???

They probably put Clooney in the poll as your general "no one would ever pick this option" poll option.

I voted Keaton for the hell of it, but really, in some way, Bale, Keaton, and West will always be "Batman" to me.

My List goes like this [for live action]

1. Bale

2. West

3. Kilmer

4. Keaton

I voted Bale with Keaton in a close second.

3. Keaton

4. West

5. Doesn't really matter.

Why is Val Kilmer not on that list?

Anyway. I choose Michael Keaton.

They're all great. Well, Keaton, Bale, Kilmer and West are. Clooney could play a great Batman in a serious film. Conroy does a great voice.

In General for all BATMEN :batman:

1. Conroy - owns all of them :batty:

2. Bale - Badass

3. West - A Legend

4. Kilmer - Awesome

5. Keaton - Good

6. Screw Looney Clooney

As a Batman fan since 1966 (I was two at the time) I think I am more than qualified to answer this question from my point of view here it is as follows:

1) Bale; his Batman by way of Nolan's direction was the Batman I have been waiting on since I outgrew the TV show in the 60's.
2) West; I have to give him the second ranking by default. It was because I was hooked on this campy TV show years after it went off the air and because of the show I became a diehard Batman fan. This West Batman was to the Dark Knight what Holy Grail was for King Author. A fun, funny, and hip version for the time. I still watch it for laughs.
3) Keaton; had the Nolan version never come out then Keaton would have been #1 above West. Keaton and Burton's version was acceptable for that period of time and still holds up. But the latest version left me in awe and now 89 and BR are just nice additions to ones library.
4) Conroy; I agree that BTAS was a great patch in the history of Batman. Conroy did more with his voice than others did live.
5) Clooney; even though his version nearly killed the franchise he still did better than Kilmer.
6) Kilmer; very disapointed by his version more than any other. He seemed weak in the role and his darkside came across as sad. Lousy supporting cast in this film. Ironically it was Robin that was the only saving grace. The should have just put pow and bam in this and said it was a remake of the 60's TV show.

Bale was amazing, and in my opinion, the best Batman.

However, I voted for Keaton, because he was the one I grew up knowing as Batman, and still think of him as Bruce Wayne/Batman to do this day.

Bob Kane said personally that he preferred Val Kilmer. That he was the live-action man who had portrayed Bruce/Batman the best.

NOTE: Kane died after B&R. Never got to see BB.

I agree with you on 1 and 2 completely . . . Keaton and Kilmer were good as well . . . the others I choose to forget

If you asked me this question two years ago, I would've said Keaton, but Bale takes the cake now. Regardless, Keaton will always have a special place in my heart. Side note... it stumps me that Clooney is even on the list whereas Kilmer isn't. Kilmer was tons better as Batman. No disrespect to Clooney, but his portrayal was a joke.

As much as I truly love the epitomy of badass-ness that is Christian Bale, I still have to say that the one actor I will always see as the Batman is Michael Keaton. Batman '89 was just too much a part of my childhood for any actor, no matter how good, to take that away from him. I saw Batman when I was two years old (born in 87) and watched that movie hundreds of times throughout my childhood. It was my favorite movie then, and is still one of my favorites today. And when I saw Batman Returns in the theater in 1992, it had the same effect on me. I loved the animated series, the comics, and pretty much every other incarnation of Batman as a child, but the two Burton movies were always tops for me, and although Bale is a most worthy successor, Michael Keaton will always be Batman in my eyes.

Let me put it this way. No matter what he's in, whether it's some dumb kids movie, or a mediocre "Ring" rip-off like White Noise, I will NEVER see Michael Keaton and not immediately think "Batman."
