Two New "The Spectacular Spider-Man" Animated DVD Releases Set For March 2009

Hmm...Well, I'm guessing probably the same cover just with Volume 1 on the front.

Is the 4th volume out yet? Its just I'm reading a review of it from IGN. Its better for April 13th instead of April 28th.

I wish I could get these DVDs.:csad:

I so want to see this season in widescreen and also support the show.

Hahaha.

I sold the DVDs.

Just wanted to say it...maybe Sony reads this and FINALLY decides to put out a box-set.

Anyone from the UK bought the DVDs? Because I'm just wondering if the black bars disappear and the whole widescreen image fills the screen when the screen is set to display a 16:9 image.

Yes, the DVDs will fill the screen. That is what we call Anamorphic Widescreen.

in the past i was always for full screen dvds but that was before i knew the differnce of full/widescreen aspect ratios and all that.

^ Me too, lol.

I would always get fullscreen DVDs until I figured out the difference.

But at least Blu-Rays aren't "fullscreen" because that'll just confuse me as well.

^That's if you have a widescreen tv that is:yay:

Yeah, I think my TV is 14 inches, not 16, which might explain why I still get the black bars even when I set the screen to display a 16:9 image. Could that be the case?

This is basically what Volume 1 looks like:

Although I heard that the 3 episodes will still form a movie. That it's basically still Attack Of The Lizard. WTF that makes no sense at all! They're just changing the package! Why the hell for? So the people who buy it wont get confused with the other volumes? Uh, wouldn't they just be MORE confused when they realise that this is just a movie?

It's 3 seperate episodes. It says "Contains Episodes 1, 2, and 3" on the bottom.

Well, inches have nothing to do with it. If your tv is a "normal" tv, than you'd get the black bars no matter what. Yeah, you can make it fit the screen, but either it will look streched out or you'd have to use zoom which will cut off the picture.

Yeah but I read somewhere on a site don't remember which site though, but someone said that the disc will be the same, the only thing that is changed is the package. I mean, even the bonus material is the same as the last one. We'll see though.

All of the DVD releases are widescreen. It certainly wouldn't make much sense for volume 4 to suddenly be full screen after the previous releases were widescreen.

I hate this marketing tool. I really do.

I understand why they do it, its a very smart maneuver, but i just want me my complete first season!!!

Hopefully, from the word of mouth of things they cut out, we get a nice bunch of bonus features, hopefully some rejected concept images and what not.

But heres hoping they relase the first season soon. Plus the cover image i would like, would be ...

still no news on the season 1 boxset? do sony actually WANT to make money or not?

On Vol 4, at the end of the trailer promoting the 4 volumes, it says "The Complete First Season Coming Soon".
