F.E.A.R. freaks out for PS3!
Wednesday 9-Aug-2006 11:49 AM Exclusive: Vivendi's all conquering F.E.A.R. will be heading onto Sony's next-gen platform!

F.E.A.R. took the PC by storm, is boldly slapping up the Xbox 360, offering further PC adventures with expansion pack Extraction Point and is now confirmed for Sony's next-gen console, the PS3, CVG can exclusively reveal today.

Following hot on the heels of the announcement of F.E.A.R. multiplayer for free, CVG's investigative reporters have learned that the mighty shooting franchise, which offers superb slow mo gun battles and pant-wetting Japanese-influenced horror, will be marching straight onto Sony's next-gen console.

Advertisement:No further details were forthcoming from our sources, but we'd have to hope the game would power onto the PS3 on or around the time of launch - and there's even the possibility that it might make use of the PS3's funky tilting controller for some of the game's crunching melee moves. Hopefully it'll make good use of the PS3's online capabilities too, offering PS3 owners a chance to indulge in splendid multiplayer shooting.

None of that's confirmed of course, as we're writing it wearing our hat of enormous speculation, but it swells the shooting credentials of Sony's next-gen console, joining other big hitters like Valve's Half-Life 2.

Exciting news indeed and we'll bring you more on F.E.A.R. PS3 as it shivers in.

It is, but really, you don't need to play it, it was overrated quite a bit when it came out because the PC hadn't had a "big" title in a while so it needed to look more important/fun than it really was. By the time it hits there will be much better games, even in the same genre, to choose from. Games that aren't year old straight pc ports.

Hodges, I WILL buy it for the 360
I don't plan to buy a ps3 for a loooong time (maybe 2 or 3 years from now)
I'm just glad ps3 fans are going to be able to enjoy FEAR as well

I'd love to explain to you why 1080p vs 720p is a big hoax, like 32-bit color vs 24-bit color, but I doubt you've got the mental dexterity to grasp it. To anyone else, basically, just look it up. 1080p being a huge leap over 720p, or a leap period, is just another in a long list of lies Sony has told this generation to try and make their system seem more appealing to those unwilling to actually looking into what they say.

No, that's the point, it doesn't make a big difference. It's (literally, this is not an exaggeration) like taking your computer resolution from 1024x768 to 1030x780, the difference is so slight that NO ONE can tell the difference. Giving over system resources to a higher resolution that could be used for FSAA, AF, HDR, etc is just stupid, don't expect many games to do this on the ps3, and don't expect any to benefit from it. 1080p PS3 is a big hoax, like most of the system.

yeah you'd love to "explain it" but there is no explination. 1080p is just better as is 32bit.

"1024x768 to 1030x780" what a bad example. try using the real numbers. then show the increase in pixel count. then show it as a percentage. then contrast that to the jump from SD to 720p.
