I know this has been brought up before, but I just found something:

FanArt:

Movie:

There are plenty of instances that this has happened.

Please post those images and comparison photos which you think are in line or influenced by fanart.

That fanart was made later after that pic, and isn't that fan art Routh?

Do you actually think WB was influnced by some internet fan art?

And just what influnced them? The color of the cape, the suit?

It's just Superman standing there....

I hate to tell you but Singer was influenced by internet fan art. That fan poster of Superman hovering in front of the sun influenced Singer to do that shot of Superman flying upward in front of the sun which was featured in the teaser. He even asked the artist permission.

I am not saying that they weren't going to include that scene already, but that poster influenced that one shot.

i don't think that's such a bad thing. if anything it shows that Singer and co. are actually paying attention to the fanbase...not to mention if this is true, Singer and co. actually had the decency to ask the original artist instead of ripping it off.

I don't think its a bad thing at all. Means they pay attention to all media.

Question guys-

Does anyone know where I can find the SR trading cards?

Can someone post the picture of Supes hovering infront of the sun?

This was the most notable one, yes.

Just as they were influenced by more prevelent wrks like Ross' work, they had some influence from other pieces they saw.

When researching things like this they look everywhere.

they happened to stumble across things like the fan art, and when a piece simply has a great visual aspect and truely personifies what they aare looking for, they use it as inspiration, doesn't matter where uit comes from.

They took inspiration from tons of things that were NOT even SUPERMAN.

Just like every writer and director should and does. I was responding to Mr. Socko and Reporter Kent who found it inconceivable that they would use fan art as an influence.

This is a close up version of it. The original was farther away as the teaser was.

Welcome...I believe Dan-El from superman-v.com made it.

Yep thats him! He was the one I talked to who told me the background that he was contacted by them and what not.

True. Which means that ideas about the future (suit, Routh bulking up a wee bit more, villans, etc.) that we debate endlessly around here might actually be useful as opposed to being labeled mere "whining" :D

Dan-El made a poster like that over a YEAR ago and it was one of the first SR posters. You can even see Dan-El's work hanging on a wall in the production office during one of the blogs. The teaser footage was based on Dan-El's manip ;)
