Am I the only one who thinks that most of the people who liked the movie were movie critics and movie-goers who might not have been fans of the comics, while those who might have hated it were fans of the comics?

I'm an uber fan of the X-Men comics and I loved this movie. I think it's the best of the three X-Movies but I guess any movie-goer would not nitpick as much as a fan of the comics

Perhaps some fans, but I wouldn't go so far as to include most movie critics though . . . most of them seemed to dislike The Last Stand for other reasons regardless of whether or not they were comic book fans.

I don't know.. I'm leaning towards the ones not liking it are mostly fanboys, but then again, SHH was extremely positive towards the film so people here had high expectations. I know you guys probably don't look at AICN for X3 stuff, but in their public talkback, a majority of the people (these are the same ones who wouldn't shut up about how sucky this film would be) were pissed at Harry because they were impressed with the film- the ones bashing it on AICN were the ones defending it after they saw it. So a lot of it depends on epectations.

Having said that, I think the fans are the ones with the highest expectations (I was a little "blah" after seeing both X2 and X3 in theatres for the same reason, I had very high expectations for them), so those were the ones who would obviously see the most dissapointment with the final product.

I'm not even going to try discussing critics- their in positions to act as quasi-public figures, so there will always be some bias. For the most part critics enjoyed the film (from everything I read), just not as much as X1 or X2.

I don't know about the fans of the comic books, having never read them my self, but the majority of critics seem to either hate it, or not think too much of it, just a fairly exciting popcorn flick. Of course, there are exceptions to the rule, who think of it as the best of the series.

But Rotten Tomatoes has it at 56%, compared to X1 with 80%, and X2 with 87%.

I'm really not liking rottentomatoes anymore...

I always check the RT before going out to watch a movie and working at a movie theater, I get a chance to watch alot of movies and I gotta tell ya, those things just can't be taken as gospel...Sometimes the critics are wrong, ya know...Many people just look for different things in a movie, ya know...
