Fantastic Four Animated Series Discussion

I saw enough to be pleased with the way the Skrulls looked. And FF mailman Willie Lumpkin was particularly faithful to the original comics.

No and why do people wanna hate on the FF so much wether it be the cartoon or movie?

I hate the cartoon because I love the FF.

As for why fans of other superheroes might want to "hate on the FF?"
Jealousy.
Stan may have slapped "The World's Greatest Comic Magazine" on the cover a bit prematurely (issue #3, I think) but that seemingly ridiculous hype actually turned out to be prophetic.
No superhero comic that I know of has ever enjoyed such a long "peak."

I'm a huge FF fan and I love the cartoon. This week's episode was HILARIOUS. Funniest thing I've seen on TV since, oh, probably the premiere episode (and to date, only good episode) of Metalocalypse.

Some time this week, I'm hoping I can work the line "Tell me everything about you! Including your skin density and upper strength limits!" into a conversation with one of my friends. :woot:

Well i for one love this cartoon, i really need to see this skrull ep tho, its not on torrent as yet and I cant wait darn it.

Theme tune is stuck in my head.

There tends to be a even mix of those who support the cartoon and those who dislike it on this forum.Ive been to other forums where nearly everyone likes the cartoon and has good things to say about it.Dont let it get to you,it really is good and it has so much potential.:hyper:

alright, the cartoon itself seems to be decent.

The beginning sequence is starting to grow on me alot, it's very trendy and layed back.

i've watched four of the first five episodes (not yet finished watching the one where doom and reed switch bods) and story wise they seem fine. Johnny stands out, really helps with the show. Susan seems a lil depowered at this moment in time. Ben and Reed seem fine. Have no problems with the costume or animation or the general script. I guess launching the shows out of chronological order hasn't help (although the ronan ep was definitely the weakest, not a good place to start but it has helped with the momentum of the show's quality always increasing).

My only problem is the tamed down violence in it. Although it looks violent, there wasnt much slugging going on, especially in the hulk ep (definitely no blows to the face).

if you compare hard knocks to Nightmare in green (similar episode shown in the 90s series), you'll see that there is a definite Increase in the debris and the scale of the fight has increased but it just seems a lot less violent.

all in all, with the range of episodes they seem to be doing and the large number of shows ready for a single season, i don't think this show is going to have any problems. Saying this, i think it is likely to remain fairly light, which doesn't seem to be a problem for this show.

I hate the cartoon so much it makes the movie seem like a masterpiece.

Ignore him, He tends to be the Forum Idiot. :o

I actually missed the Trial By Fire when it first aired,so it was a new episode for me.It may be far fetched, but does anyone might like to think a Kree-Skrull war might be done?Like Secret Wars was done with Spider-Man?

That skrull episode was really good, i liked how they set it up for a super skrull episode. I seriously cant wait to see that one!!!

So let's see... Cartoon Network has aired FIVE episodes so far. And they've aired them out of order, totally blowing a lot of the context. And after only five episodes (out of 26!), they're already doing reruns. Do they WANT this show to die?

Well, next Saturday they are going to show Princess Mononoke, so they won't show FF at all, but then after that new episodes will start up again:

I watched the first 4 episodes about a month ago. Pretty good stuff. A little too anime for my personal preference. But good nonetheless. Doomed is probably my favorite episode so far.

Just a reminder, tomorrow and the next few Saturdays will be new episodes. :)

SATURDAY: 10/21/2006 - World's Tinest Heroes (Guest starring Ant Man)

This is the 1995 FF cartoon (second season, the one that was decent) that introduces Frankie Raye and her flame powers inside of 30 seconds.
I sure hope the new movie doesn't do anything like this, sacrificing Frankie's characterization for plot expediency. (As a result, she seems to act more like a loon from the get-go.)
Not perfect, but still for my money the best FF cartoon to date.(Referring to the entire 2nd season, not this one episode.) Nice theme on the opening credits. (Sure beats that awful song from season one.)
