Fantastic Four TV series to debut on Cartoon Network!

I was initially very disappointed in the designs and summary when i first saw them, as i was hoping for something a bit more edgy, along the lines of Batman:TAS or Justice league, but on further consideration, i dont mind it being geared towards the younger fan.

Teen Titans has been very successful, so it's apparent Marvel is going for the same audience.

And that's ok.

In order for the characters to "live on", younger people are going to have to be catered to every bit as much as old jaded bastards (like me, lol).

If this toon increases the movie's audience and even picks up a few new readers for the comics, then that's a GOOD thing, imo.

i have no problem gearing towards that age group as well...in fact i would have been surprised if they hadn't....i simply don't like the design....whether its geared for kids or not....i don't like it....and i don't see it picking up new readers to the comics, because it doesn't look like any of them....the kids will see the comics and go....no dad thats not the F4....this is....and show this horrible picture...i hope i'm wrong here....but kids can be picky and if they see the cartoon as the look of the F4...well when they see the comics i don't think they'll go for it.....new readers? awesome....bigger viewership for the movie.....awesome......the art work........i just don't like it.

I don't think kids are THAT picky, lol.

I mean, The Thing is STILL The Thing...big orange pissed off rock-guy. I dont think that blue "4" on his chest is going to make kids change channels.

Same with The Torch (Fire guy), Reed (stretchy guy), and Sue (Invisible lady)...

I think they'll make the connections pretty easily enough.

Well kids are definiately individuals...the one's i come into contact w/ are picky as hell....they saw differences in the Batman movie and the Batman cartoons immediately...and were not happy....but as whole...true...who knows....

Kids ARE picky , especially when it comes to changes in characters they love. For instance , the above example ( The Batman / Batman ) they dont like how its changed. It looks different and is less appealing.

WTF is wrong with some of you. Does every Marvel released cartoon have to appeal to your age bracket.

Yes it does. FF has been around since the 60's how many 13 year olds do you know that care about the true creative story potential that is Fantastic 4? It has to appeal to us because its more a part of our lives, and culture then these children can comprehend.

I hate that cartoons think to appeal to kids they have to bring all this cutesy crap. Back in the day I was 11 years old, and our favorite show was Robotech. I loved that show because of it's adult themes. Yes it was complicated, but through genius character development kids 9-?? could follow along. So I wish the networks would get the big picture for once. Im sick of mass generated poor quality cartoons. These comics are best adapted for adult themes, otherwise we will end up getting another crappy "Thing Ring" cartoon spinoff.

Can someone please do me a favor and please post a pic of Torch from the cartoon?

:( You should see him up close how terrible. Man I hate the FF totaly spies animation to them. Its horrible.

Well how do you know he looks bad close up?

Because it all looks bad?

Seriously though, we've seen several pics of the animated Torch on these boards over the past few months.
And in all fairness, he is the least awful-looking of this bastardized FF.

Do yourself a favor and go buy or rent the recently released FF cartoon series from 94/95 and watch Season Two. It's really pretty good; the best anyone's managed to do so far.

I predict this new FF toon is gonna leach the calcium out of your bones and kill brain cells faster than aerosol fumes if you watch it. It makes my head hurt just looking at that spray-painted "4" on poor BINO (Ben-in-name-only).

Wherever the Great Jack Kirby is, I pray he can't see what they're doing to his creations.

I thought we've actually only seen the one pic a few months ago, I don't remember more than that one.

I saved one where they're standing next to a rocket or something, in sort of a totem pole arrangement, with the FF a bit to the left. I'll see if I can find it and then I'll see if I can finally figure out how to post an image on these boards.

And just to clarify, I'm really not that bothered by the artwork itself. It actually looks pretty cool to me compared to a lot of other stuff out there. It's just the radical changes in the uniforms and the spray-painted "4" on Ben.

Every time I look at Cartoon Network's new "Ben 10" show I see tons more Kirby influence than I do in this "re-interpreted" FF. Even in the logo. And that's a shame. If you want to see what I mean, check out their Ben 10 page, complete with a streaming video of the latest episode: http://www.cartoonnetwork.com/tv_shows/ben10/index.html
It's obvious the creators have a love and appreciation for Jack Kirby. Too bad Marvel couldn't have had them do the new FF show.:(

Yeah i remember that pic, i looked for it yesterday and couldn't find it....

I gotta agree with you gus the spray painted 4 does look kinda bad, but I still love Torch.

Looks like crap. Why can't these idiots EVER get ANYTHING right?

The FF are NOT teenage kiddies except for Johnny.

Lame lame lame lame.

Lets just wait and see some episodes. It may not all be that bad.

It's about time for some Marvel.
Even if its Teen Titans-like, I'll still like it because it's a Marvel cartoon, and they have never dominated the cartoons in a while.
Besides, they don't look that bad,.....well, except for The Thing.
I still like the 90's Fantastic Four (second season) character designs alot better though.

I really dont think it is targeted just for 11 year olds. But I also am just hopeing this...
