Okay, okay, I'm speaking - Ultimate sucks. MOSTLY. But not entirely.

Ultimate Fantastic Four however is the pinnacle of everything sucky.

Follow the linear progression: A few people said that Ultimate everything sucks. One guy said that he not only agreed, he also felt that the "silent majority" would probably agree too. You replied with your rant that the silent majority around here needs to speak up. So, after reading all of that, I finally did speak up - and I mostly agree. Most Ultimate stuff does suck.

That's not what I said.
I said the silent majority would probably agree that a little courtesy around here goes a long way towards avoiding stupid flame wars; that proclaiming one's opinion as fact has the opposite result.

I don't think the majority of fans feel that Marvel's "Ultimate" books are crap. I mean they certainly buy them in substantial enough quantities to keep the line afloat.
That being said, I still think they're a complete waste of trees. I think that about 90% of so-called "mainstream" comics today are a waste of trees. I think they are mostly heartless product, regurgitating the same tired ideas and stories and "twists" over and over again, throwing on a different color of paint (and maybe a variant cover) and calling it "new" and "exciting" when it's just grade-C crap. Yes, I think there are exceptions (both Marvel & DC) but they are very few.
But I digress.

Obviously, these boards are for the expression of opinions. Qualifying each statement we make as opinion is certainly not necessary and there's no rule about that. But I think most of us would agree that walking into a thread and posting something like "Everything Ultimate sucks" is much more likely to set off a fanboy beehive than "Man, I think everything Ultimate sucks" would.

Now that progression may not be linear, but surely there's no confusion now as to what I'm saying.

Dude, I wasn't talking about the silent majority in reference to the Ultimate or any other comic book. I was talking of opinions, and stating things as opinions. I was talking about the silent majority in reference to whining fanboys stating facts not opinions and being seen as trolls. The majority are not whining fanboys or trolls, but because they are silent those things are allowed to go on. That is why I said the silent majority needs to speak up.

Since I never mentioned the Ultimate series, I think that kind of should have been obvious, but ok. Also, since I pretty much the one that started that progression, I knew which way it was going.

I do not believe that etiquette dictates one state something is "in their opinion", because I assume that to be the default position. The closer you look at something, the more elusive "absolute facts" become.

Others may view things differently. Such is the nature of the individual.

Its all good.

New episode tonight. "De-Mole-ition"

Edit: Nope, it's "Zoned Out".

Decent episode...liked seeing Frankie...

I figured that one "particular" bug would turn out to be Annihilus...let's hope the leftover one turns out to be him.

word of the day?

Ooooh no, that word has been around my house for a few years now.

We do alot of it to! :woot:

ok i seen 5 seconds of it...its crap.
anime...no way.

Wow, the critiques of this show get better and better.

Frankie..that has a odd feel.Perhaps Nova might appear in the FF in later episodes."Zoned Out" gave me the impression that this was a episode about the Baxter Building and the tenants that live beneath the FF`s part of the building. Its good to see a bit of realism.

On a side note, when are the toys going to come out.I want to buy a Thing action figure and the Fantasti-Car toy.

This show keeps going to horrible to average and this was a horrible episode. And Hellboys on right proving yet again Marvel still sucks at making cartoons.Hellboy has blown everything thing theyv'e done so far.

I've only had a chance to watch a couple of the episodes. The 2 I saw, I enjoyed. I mean, as much as I can enjoy a cartoon, but I enjoyed them.

I wish Marvel cartoons had their Paul Dini/Alan Burnett/Bruce Timm team...

Yeah i know what you mean. I hope they bring it back next year if there putting it on break or have they offically canned the show for good?

What the hell is up with marvel tv shows? First Blade the series gets canned now this?

Well, there's nothing official yet other than they pulled it from the schedule for a month. But that's a pretty bad sign. Hopefully they will just change the time it comes on and keep it going. I get the feeling they canned it though. We can only hope for a quick DVD release. :csad:

Maybe if the Batman really sucks in the ratings there put it back on.

Curse you batman!!!!!!!!!:cmad:

*waves fist angerly*

My god, this sucks ass. I was really digging the show...

Didn't I say that Cartoon Network seemed to be TRYING to sabotage this?!
