should be ashamed of themselves. How dare they let this Fantastic Four Forum go unused. Look at yourselves with disgust people.

Try the comic forum, there is discussion there. This is from the first movie, its kind of obvious why its not being used.

I think we've already lost the narrative thread here

The Fantastic Four films were a failure,I was one who said this from the very start. Let the Hype put up sub-forums for things that are worth the space.

I too am suprised people have just let those movies pass by. As bad as Alba, Story, and a heck of a lot of other flaws... people act like the series is is no way salvagable under any circumstances so I see where unstoppable is coming from. That's what I don't like about the Marvel fan base in general. We just move on from one character to another. You don't have many of those die hard fans who stand by that one franchise no matter what with the exception of Spidey and maybe X-Men. Not that that's a bad thing or a good thing. But these other franchises don't seem to have sustaining power like a Batman/Superman/Spidey/X-Men. Even Iron Man 2... I doubt we'll see major build up until we get casting and trailers. Even then I DOUBT it will get near SM3/TDK hype.

As an original forum member let me just say the Hype has died a little for me now. Before there was a lot of money being exchanged on this site the FF Forum was still the quirky little brother of the forums. It wasn't gonna hurt anyone to keep it.

On another note lets go chat on the Justice League forum!

:whatever:

RIP FF Forum. I hope we cross paths again.

There really is nothing much more that needs to be said about the FF films.

It's a shame they weren't good movies. That could have kept the fans talking.

I thoroughly enjoyed them. I will never understand all the hate.

I would love to see another film...but id wait til Marvel had control back. My hope is that the studio will feature Hulk in a huge way in the Avengers film, and then give him another shot at a movie. If that happens you can have his bad guy unload a bunch of villians on him, and itd be cool to see Thing and Human Torch help him out to generate interest in FF again...which at that point would be about 2012 or so...

I'd rather not have them do that. Team-ups are cool in comics but I don't care to see them in movies. How anti-climactic would it have been if Spidey had shown up at Ock's lab with the FF behind him, or Iron Monger was suddenly webbed up, or if a Quinjet touched down while the Hulk was battling the Abomination? Let them have their own movies.

Spider-Man didnt need to be salvaged from the wreckage of bad movies...Fantastic Four does. If you arent going to completely retool FF and let us know in advance that we arent going to be lied to again about "this Dr Doom is like the comic version, I swear and Galactus is like he is in the comics" then I want no part of another FF movie.

I thought both were fun films. I really don't like the comics. It is disappointing how they treated Dr. Doom, though.

I've never been a big fan of the comics, either.

Even if I agreed with you-and I don't-what does that have to do with anything that I said? I wasn't talking about whether or not the FF movies were good or whether or not they needed to be the next target of revamping/rebooting/retooling/re-whatever the hell you want to call it. I was talking about the fact that I don't think crossovers/teamups or gratuitous guest appearances are necessarily a good idea.

Yeah, in fact that forum was so important to you, you used it to create a false identity for yourself, (that you stole from a young lady from ANOTHER site) coming off as a female poster so you could engage in "girltalk" with other female posters, and get some sort of sick, twisted gratification from having some of the younger male hype posters come on to you.

Good times, huh? Good times.

Get your facts straight Cap. The innocent "girl" I stole the ID from was a net ****e who got what she deserved.

And you don't know my motivations so don't act like you're in my head.

This wasn't about me, it was about losing our forum. So go back and read One More Day and leave me the **** alone.

Yeah, truth hurts, doesnt it? :yay:

Fantastic Four as a movie franchise unfortunately could not be protected from 20th Century Fox.

So much lost potential.

I think if anything, the first movie proves that the interest was there. Just like X-men. But instead of making a better sequel like X-men 2, they made one that was just as bad or even worse.

Now Fantastic Four is in a very similar state to Superman, except that Fox really looks to have no intentions of continuing Fantastic Four. They spat in the faces of fans and the intelligence of moviegoers, and they paid for it. I doubt they are regretful or sorry.

We can't get a real villainous Doom. We can't have Galactus. And we can't have quality actors. Just a bunch of half-baked bubble-gum garbage.

I'm not going to hold back against Tim Story and Don Payne anymore. I don't care if they were powerless against Fox. I honestly believe if it was another studio and they were still on there, they still would've done a sub-par job. Story's second movie was freaking Taxi for crying out loud.

Story was a mediocre director, and that's the point. Fox WANTS mediocre directors to do pictures like this now. Look at Dragonball, same deal. Fox has alienated the true artists and superstars.

The only thing that I think could save Fox at this point is a Rothman ousting and replacement with someone the caliber of John Lasseter to run the company and mend fences with Marvel Studios.
