Can anything be done with the Fantastic Four franchise at this point?

Things that they could add to add to the family friendly fun and adventure feel of the FF:

Wacky inventions and a cool HQ full of fun and wacky inventions.

I really would want a reboot of this in the main Marvel Movie universe. It would be really epic!

Im not the most hardcore Fantastic Four fan, but I do like the family dynamic of this group of superheroes. I thought the first movie was just okay, nothing special and I didn't think the second one was a good movie at all. I think it has a lot to do with the director. I've seen Taxi from Tim Story and thought that was just okay like the first FF movie. I heard good things about Barbershop, but a comic book movie is probably not suited for Story. I had no problems with any of the actors in FF, even Jessica Alba, who could be better suited for the role now that she is a mom, but the action and comedy could have been handled better. I'm thinking a restart is necessary at this point to get the franchise back on its feet.

Also, should the FF be targeting kids and familys as opposed to the general public? I havent read much of the comics so I can't comment on its tone and audience. However, I'm sure it is not "dark" like Batman.

Yes we can get on once it reverts back to Marvel..... but I HOPE Chiklis and Evans are kept

I don't think that anybody from the Tim Storyverse interpretation of the Fantastic Four should be kept. That would only cause a slight amount of confusion from the standpoint of continuity. Also, it would be better long term, to start fresh.

I mentioned this somewhere, maybe here, that what they could do is this:
Instead of just rebooting it, starting over showing them get their powers again,
they should start the film with them already a team and already having powers.
Establish them as the FF family team of adventurer superheroes,
Then in a flashback type style show how they got their powers (this time with the team trying to reach Mars instead of the Moon or on a space station) and then go back to the story we started with in the film.
Maybe even introduce the Skrulls to establish that they fight aliens and have adventures like that.

using the flashback style would sort of act like they already established themselves in another movie but retells it to show that this isn't exactly a sequel.

I think, if possible, they could make a 3rd film. These films weren't terrible. Not great but were not terrible. They could restart the franchise in a couple of years or so.

Rise of the Silver Surfer was a good improvement, IMO. Heck, The series was pretty good, I'd say. They just needed to handle things a little better.

If Fox does another, and I think they will, keep Doom out of it. Bring in ANY other villain and amp up the action and Kirby style art direction.
I think it's much to early for Sue to be with child, so please do not go down that road just yet.
Pick up any story arc from the Lee/Kirby years and run with it!

If they did a one movie shot, at Marvel, NOT FOX. Recast EVERYONE, and a TOTALLY different crew from editing, to art, to music....everything.

If its a one movie shot, which I think it should be, then pay some money for a solid cast.

Oh, and no Doom.....

Do "Terror in a Tiny Town" and you have Puppet Master for most of the movie. Then of course Doom reveals himself in the 3rd Act. You can still have Doom and not over use him.

Plus have the balls to never reveal his face. I know some name actor will want to show their pretty face so don't hire a pretty face. Get a damn standin ala Darth Vader and pay someone to be the voice of Doom. Gerard Butler. Geoffrey Rush. Insert Actor.

:doom: :doom: :doom:

You might as well say they should replace Johnny with Herbie the robot. Gotta have Doom. What you need is a GOOD Doom. You know, one that doesn't suck.

Did you read my reboot idea? I have it in the last post of the previous page.

I think mine is rather clever :cwink:

Those are good ideas.....but for me, I don't want a reboot.

I'd rather them get straight to the heavy action....I like the Frightful Four idea though.

I am not completely against a 3rd film, since the base 4 members of the FF I do think were not that poorly handled, but I don't want a 3rd Story FF. IF they continue with that cast, I'd want no Doom (since their Doom sucks) and a new director and writing team.

If it was possilbe, I think I'd prefer for them to go in a different direction villain-wise and all that. Do an "Atlantis Attacks" scenario and introduce the Submariner.
