I've been going over my Fantastic Four / Silver Surfer collection and I just gotta post great scenes from the past. If you've got a scanner or pdf files of some of your favorite scenes lets look at them and discuss.

This image brings alot of emotion with it. It comes from FF#285 and issue where Johnny is faced with a case of hero worship gone wrong. Very sad issue. But the Beyonder shows up to play the Ghost of Christmas Present and give Johnny a little hope.

Here's a page from Hatemonger's first appearance. The year is 1963 and it reminds me of someone today.

Sue gets what Sue wants. And if she doesn't, she'll call you yellow.

FR, great Torch & Spidey! What issue is that from?

Reminded me of this segment in Slott's Spider-Man Human Torch, issue #5:

Ever wonder who would win in a Doom vs. Magneto battle?

Well don't you dare ask Victor.

Here's a clip from Fantastic Four Vol. 1, issue 258. 1983. Written and drawn by John Byrne.

I know a lot of people were upset with the way Waid handled Doom in that story arc, but that run, leading up to Spidey and Johnny fighting Hydroman at the park was just brilliant.

Waid and Ringo's first story on that run was the single best use of Reed's character I've ever read, and I have every issue of the book.

His talking to Val about why he made the team celebrities...

Sorry for the double post. Decided to show more below --

I'm going to date myself, and FR you had no idea, but the Hatemonger issue (#21) was the first FF comic book I bought back in 1963! Of course #22 was next, and this issue is notable for Sue's major breakthrough in extending her invisibility to force fields:

Here's one of everyone's favorite clips. Reed telling Val a bedtime story in FF Volume 3 # 60. Waid and Ringo'.

Get your tissues.

THAT'S the page.

Genius. That is how Reed is brilliantly handled... as opposed to some other writers who just push the idea of an arrogant egomaniac who puts his work before his family.

I despise the fact that when a writer has no idea what else to do, they have Reed and Sue on the verge of divorce. :whatever:
