It's my understanding that it's an expansion for FC4, like Blood Dragon for FC3. In any case, the setting is pretty intriguing!

Name of the game is Far Cry Primal, set in the Mesolithic era. Not super clear if this is a full blow Far Cry sequel/spin-off or more like an offset, smaller title similar to Blood Dragon. Comes out for PS4 and Xbox One February 23rd, 2016 with a PC release afterward in March.

Yeah I'm confused too. It looks like an expansion, it's far too soon for a sequel.

I wonder if you need the main game to play, if it is an expansion. I don't think you would, since you didn't need to for Blood Dragon, but I'm only curious because I'm trying to pick up Far Cry 4 used on Gamefly for $10, and I'd hate to see a combo pack released in a few months.

I'm seeing some people are saying this is a full retail, $60 release, but I'm not super sure where the info is coming from. I've not seen that clarification in the videos released so far.

I've never played the Far Cry series. But I think I might be checking this out becUse it's during the Stone Age. Love that setting.

Far Cry 3 was amazing. I'd say you definitely should pick it up if you can.

Far Cry 4 isn't a bad game by any means, but it is basically FC3 with next gen graphics which is disappointing for fans looking for something new.

I'm glad to see them trying something new like this. You cant just slap a new skin on the guns and environment. This will be pretty different.

I got a very Horizon vibe from this, only without robot dinosaurs.

Horizon definitely has a similar feel, but this is set in the actual past of the Mesolithic era where as Horizon is set in a post-apocalyptic world were humanity has regressed to a similar era and fight giant robo dinos for reasons.

I played through Far Cry 4 and absolutely hated the writing, story but loved setting and music. 100% Loved Blood Dragon, so my question is: Should I check out 3, 2 and 1? It seems 3 set the benchmark.

Same. I think its a really neat concept, just not a period of history or a setting I have even a remote interest in.

I hope all the dialogue isnt in that made up language. Reading subtitles for all the dialogue is going to get old.

They should have them speak english. Start with their language then have it segway into English.
