Favorite alcoholic beverage?

White Russians, Rum and Coke, beer (Heineken, Guinness, Molson, Molson ICE, Corona), Sambuca, Cognac, some red wines (I enjoy Coppola's wines a lot), sometimes Brandy, Canadian and Irish Whiskey, sometimes Scotch.

I have yet to have an alcoholic beverage since I turned 21 last May, I'm thinking this thread will help me find a favorite.

My advice would be to start drinking stuff on your own. People all have their own tastes, and usually it helps for family members or people you know to maybe give you some stuff to try. But I developed my tastes by drinking whatever people made available at parties and stuff so that's certainly one approach.

I lucked out when it came to finding a drink on my 21st birthday. My mom called me, told me to meet her at the bar at TGIFridays, and bought me my first drink. It was a freaking mai-tai, though. It had so much acidic fruit mixed into it, it gave me heartburn.

I really had my drinking cherry popped when a co-worker of mine invited me to a college party. Yikes. Beer, another beer, another beer, a shot of vodka, another shot, and another beer.

Taste wise, love White Russians. They taste like a mix between a vanilla capuccino and some choclate milk to me. And the tropical drinks (Strawberry daquiris, fuzzy navels, etc.) are awesome when I'm in the mood for them. Also, someone fixed me a shot called a "Mother ****er" that tasted real nice.


Alcohol wise, Long Island Ice Teas will definitely get the job done quick. And screwdrivers are easy to make and quite effective.


If you're looking for both taste and alcohol, when made right White Russians and Screwdrivers are both good choices. And I also recommend you buy a bottle of Captain Morgan's Parrot Bay Rum: Passion Fruit flavor. Nice alcohol with decent proof level that you can drink straight because it tastes like fruit juice. If you mixed this stuff with some Hawaian Punch you probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference.



As far as the whole beer vs. alcohol debate goes, gotta admit: not big on the taste of beer. Granted, I'll still drink it. But I usually drink it after a few shots.
