The Avengers Favorite lines from the movie, Spoilers of course.

"To challenge them would be to court... death..."

*trademark evil grin*

And...

"YOU MEWLING QUIM!"

Galaga.....and I wondered to myself how many people have no idea what Galaga is (I used to play it as a kid all the time).
My theater (midnight) was over 90% teenagers and they all cracked up over that one...much to my surprise.

Wow that is surprising. Now if Stark had said "That guy is playing Call of Duty...."

I loved everything Loki said to Black Widow about how he was going to get Barton to kill her. It was so evil and vicious. Hiddleston is incredible. I'd put his Loki up there as one of the all-time greatest comic book movie villains, second possibly only to Ledger's Joker.

That was one of the most chilling threats I've ever heard in any movie.

Anyway, I liked all the lines mentioned here, plus this exchange:

Black Widow: This is just like Budapest.
Hawkeye: You and I remember Budapest very differently.

Fury "Yes I got the order. But because it's a stupid ass order I am choosing to ignore it".

I so wanted Sam to deliver a classic ' Sam-Jackson' mutha****er at the end of that line!:woot:

Personally I think Coulson got some great disloyal...him and Pepper was just fantastic with Tony unbelieving of what he was hearing...and the look on Phil's face as Black Widow was finishing up her assignment...and the whole Cap fanboy thing...I was just always smiling and then crushed when his last scene concluded.

And...Fury "They needed a push" said completely deadpan

The joke works even if you don't know the actual game. It makes it even much funnier that the place is surrounded with hi tech while the game is like 30 years old.

Just the idea that someone is playing a game on the bridge of the Shield helicarrier is funny. The fact that it was true (as opposed to just being a joke made by Tony) made it even funnier.

"You Mewling Quim"

"I'm filled with glorious purpose"

"Do you know what you interrupted?"
"Shakespeare in the Park? Doest thy mother know thoust are wearing her drapes?"

Anytime Tony interacted with Cap or Pepper.

"Puny god."

Great stuff.

Thor: Do not touch me again
Ironman: Then dont take my stuff
Thor: You have no idea what you're dealing with
Ironman: Uh... Shakespeare in the park?
Thor:
Ironman: Doth mother know you weareth her drapes? :oldrazz:
/QUOTE]

Yeah, that killed me, lol :woot:

These aren't "favorite lines" per se, but I'm not sure where else this belongs: Seeing it the 3rd time, I really appreciated the little allusions to Coulson's "cellist." First you hear Pepper asking him about her in their first scene, and you hear Coulson mention that it's over, as she's sadly moving back to Portland. Then later, when Tony first arrives on the bridge of the helicarrier after the scuffle with Thor, you see that he's mid-conversation with Coulson, talking about how he can fly Coulson to Portland on one of his private jets for the weekend or something like that, urging him to "keep the love alive." Just another little clue that Tony was much closer with Coulson than he initially lets on.

What is a "cellist"?

That's not her name I take it...

What is a "cellist"?

Someone who plays the cello.

And yes, it gives you an idea of how well put together the script is. The actors weren't lying in the interviews. The level of writing and detail is quite an achievement.

Loki's lines are amazing, specially the way Tom delivers them. This one is a particular favourite:

Freedom. Freedom is life's great lie. Once you accept that, in your heart...
You will know peace.

I loved when Tony tried commanding the Helicarrier bridge crew as if he was the captain of a Napoleonic-era frigate.

Also when Steve said something along the lines of 'there is only one God and im pretty sure he doesnt dress like that." as he jumps out ofthe Quinjet

"He's adopted." Thor on Loki.

That got a big laugh from me.

Can someone explain to me Cap's "I get the reference" quote?
I think he was referring to Wizard of Oz monkeys and it was finally one that Cap understood.

Though at first I thought he was just happy that he understood what a monkey was haha so it was even funnier for me originally.

Flying Monkeys is a reference to the 'Wizard of Oz'.

Unlike the Stephen Hawking comment Coulson mentioned to him earlier, Steve actually understood the reference and seemed quite proud of the fact that he did.

"Put on the suit, lets go a few rounds."

Yeah, Fury is talking about how Loki was able to turn his men into "his personal flying monkeys"

Thor then is confused about the idea of a flying monkey and doesn't understand

That's when Cap pops up, saying he got the reference while Stark rolls his eyes.
