For years the medium of young adult/adult animation shows have been dominated by pretty much four big players. The Simpsons, South Park, Family Guy & American Dad.

The Simpsons started way back in 89 and dominated the industry on their own until South Park joined the game in 97 after that they were quickly followed by Family Guy in 99 and finally last to the part was American Dad in 05.

Now don't get me wrong im not saying I dislike these shows, quite the opposite as without them I probably wouldn't have the same interest in the medium I do have today but there's no doubt that they dominated that part of the industry.

However over the last 6 to 8 years many new great animated shows have managed to establish themselves and I thought it would be interesting to see which one of these "new era" shows is your favorite.

F Is For Family?

BoJack Horseman?

Big Mouth?

Brickleberry/Paradise PD?

Final Space?

Rick & Morty?

Disenchanted?

Castlevania?

Tuca & Bertie?

Mr. Pickles?

SuperMansion?

The Awesomes?

If I have missed your favorite show from the list chances are I just haven't seen it myself so let me know if you think it should be included and I will add it to the list.

Rick and Morty is by far my favorite.

Disenchanted is promising, but with just 1 short season so far it's a bit early to pass judgement.

No real opinion on the others yet.

Rick & Morty is awesome Rick has quickly risen to one of my top 10 animated characters.

If you're interested in potentially giving any of the others a go I would highly recommend both Final Space (only one season so far but its great and at times a really surprisingly touching story) & BoJack Horseman (its funny, its sad, you see the best and worst of characters just a hell of a ride).

both surprisingly well balanced on Marvel/DC parodies

Haven't heard of either them will have to give the top one a look because of Bryan Cranston alone lol have added them both to the list if you want to pick one of them.

Chris Pine as well...You're never going to be able tell though because he's practically born to be an impressionist/voice actor

I'd say it's almost hard to decide, but I think The Awesomes just for its serialized storyline going everywhere possible.
Both ended on 3 seasons.

I reckon we’re definitely in a new golden era for animation. Bojack horseman is so clever and shows like Steven universe shows theirs still a hunger for new properties with beautiful animation.

I grew up in the 90s era and really cartoons couldn’t be more different to then

Ducktales. Just Ducktales. One of my favorite animated series ever. Way better than the original 1987 version ever was.

Yeah I think while you always had animated shows like the Simpsons that would deal with real life issues a lot of these new ones are getting more of an opportunity to do that and not sugar coat anything.

The only thing I need to know does it still have the iconic theme song?
