What Spider-Man villains are your favorite from the comics of the last decade? That means new ones created from 00-09.

that was helpful. do you have a villain you think is mediocre.

I really like Morlun. I think it's fantastic how he pretty much can't die and he's basically unstoppable, so he can really **** Spidey up before he gets defeated.

The fact that they had to make an unstoppable villain shows the lack of creativity. But I'm sure they'll make him somewhat weaker than in his first few appearances.

Mister Negative is okay, but still, I'm not a huge fan of any villain that has been created in the last decade or so. And also, Mac Gargan Venom is just stupid. Venom should've stayed as Brock and I'm glad he's Scorpion again.

I have just finished reading some mister negative comic I think I might really like the ch.

I was just reading some Mr. Negative in the Gauntlet and I kinda like him, but I'll have to see more before I pass judgement. As for Morlun, I don't think he's particularly uncreative. I mean how many villains do you see coming after Spiderman because he's got a little of some ancient totem stuff in him? ;)

Mr. Negative is easily the best newly created Spidey villain. I mean, he's really only been written by Slott but he's the only one that's really stuck. They're doing a story right now with Mr. Negative in Amazing, in fact.

Thanks for inviting me to comment on this forum spider13, but I haven't read an issue beyond #50, so I can't really comment.

Yea i kind of agree. I cant really recall any thats been created recently that i actually like. I mean im a stickler for the classics. You just dont top Norman Osborn.

I'd pick Mr. Negative.

And Morlun is very boring IMO. Him being basically unstoppable makes him a very bland villain.

At first, I thought Menace was going to be a great new VIllain, and even though I like her, she just can't compare to Mr. Negative at all, IMO.

Exactly with Morlun. I mean, Juggernaut was always considered "unstoppable", but at least he had an interesting background.

why can't she.

Another Goblin is just twiddling your resources, haha. Plus, she reminds me of the MJ Goblin that we saw in Ultimate.

I wish they'd do some more comics with Morlun and explain him more. Maybe if they expanded on his background story or something he'd be more interesting? xD

Fred Van Lente as well, the minis have Mr. Negative written by FVL
And I agree with you

Others would be:
Gargan/Venom
Morlun (What Omar said)
Urich/Hobgoblin (sure he's older than the 00 era, but only recently he became a villain)
Freak (just for laughs)

"OK, we'll have to come up with a new villain. Let's call him Morlun. How do we make him a threat? Hmm...I've got no idea. Let's make him immortal. Next!"

That's pretty much how they came up with him. No backstory, nothing interesting at all. They just wanted someone to rip Spidey's eye out to give Spidey a reason to live in a cocoon. And the whole totem idea was so unnecessary. It was like they wanted to change the whole scientific aspect of Spidey to some kind of divine power.

Edit: I have no clue what's going on with the Ultimate Comics, but, who thinks they'll bring in Morlun to kill that Spider-Man?

A little off topic here, but I don't like modern comics at all. I think they kind of lost their classic touch that they all used to have. Mainly, they keep changing things. Scorpion being Venom, Johnny Storm dying, etc. When did they start running out of great ideas?

I'd say 1992 more like it, but I love the things that happen now
