In light of the tragic news of Robin Williams death, I thought it might be nice to create a thread where we can state our favorite role he played and why.

I never realized until now that so many of my favorite childhood movies feature him as the main star.

Aladdin, Flubber, Jumanji, Bicentenial Man, Jack, Mrs Doubtfire, the list goes on an on.

My favorite is hard to pick, so I'm gonna go with performance, Bicentenial Man it is, he made me feel real emotion for a robot!

Such a talented man, R.I.P

It is very hard to pick just one but I guess I would have to go with Good Morning Vietnam. It was kind of a microcosm of his life in the sense of the joy that he brought to people (in this case, the American soldiers in Vietnam).

Because he has just passed away, it is natural to want to remember his warm, funny, avuncular characters, but he was also excellent in darker roles. He was brilliant in One Hour Photo.

Mrs Doubtfire. That film holds such a special place for me. It's so funny, but it meant a lot. I remember when it first came out my family was going through something very similar.

My dad didn't dress up as a Scottish nanny to be with us though... :funny:

What a ****ing legend.

Mrs. Doubtfire. Then The Birdcage, Good Will Hunting, then Jumanji, Bicentennial Man. The list really does go on.

Very true, I never knew this movie even existed until a few years back when I discovered it late one night on tv, he's so creepy in it, a far cry from his more humorous friendly roles. Just goes to show what a great actor he was.

For me it's Hook.

I was obsessed with Peter Pan after seeing that film. He will always remind me that you're never too old to have fun like a kid again :)

Mrs. Doubtfire for me.

I must have rented it out on video at least 6 times and it's just one of those movie that I'll keep watching if it's on TV.

Aladdin
Bicentenial Man
One Hour Photo
Good Will Hunting
Wold's Greatest Dad
Awakenings

I need to watch The Fisher King, Patch Adams and The Angriest Man in Brooklyn.

1. Hook - I love the movie to death and RW is the main reason
2. Mrs. Doubtfire - He is both funny and dramatic

AND ALL HIS ****ING MOVIES!!! I loved that man! Death sucks!

Hook is awesome. Don't care if Spielberg himself was disappointed in it... that movie is fantastic.

Way too many, Im surprised no one has said Insomnia. He nailed that, that was the first time I ever saw him in a darker, less humor driven role and he was completely believable.

He was in too many classics

My top three films of his are still my favorites growing up, and those are Aladdin, Mrs. Doubtfire, and Hook. I also loved Jumanji and I really enjoyed Jack when I saw it. As for his adult roles, I really dug him in One Hour Photo, The Birdcage, Death to Smoochy, Dead Poets Society and Good Morning Vietnam. To my great regret, I've yet to see Good Will Hunting. Maybe I will now.

Probably Hook although Good Morning Vietnam is a close second if not tie. There's a lot of movies he did and I can't think of any I really didn't like. Even Toys wasn't terrible.

So many but have to say Aladdin. I still have it on cassette.

My personal top 10 -

1. Good Will Hunting
2. One Hour Photo
3. Good Morning, Vietnam
4. Dead Poets Society
5. Awakenings
6. Cadillac Man
7. Hook
8. Death to Smoochy
9. Mrs. Doubtfire
10. What Dreams May Come

Mrs. Doubtfire as my parents were going through a divorce around the same time. The last scene of that film always gets me teary eyed.

All my love to you, poppet, you're going to be all right... bye-bye

Bicentennial Man, Hook, Mrs Doubtfire, Jack, Jumanji.......all of them!

Family: Jumanji
Comedy: Death to Smoochy
Drama: One Hour Photo

The hate that Death to Smoochy got truly bewilders me. Williams is a laugh riot in it.

"You better grow eyes on the back of your ****ing head, you horned piece of ****. Because I'm not gonna sleep until worms are crawling up your foam rubber ass. Going on safari, mother****er. SA-FA-RI. *Elephant noise*"

Gold.
