I listen to a lot of stand up, and haven't seen a thread dedicated to it, so I thought I'd make one.
Who are some of your favorite comedians? Right now my favorites are Louis CK, who I say is the greatest stand up comedian of all time, and Patton Oswalt as a close second. Those two guys are, in my opinion, the best comedians still working.
As far as up and comers go, I think there are a lot of talented young comedians you might not know of right now but if you like comedy you should look into them. Guys like Tommy Johnagin, Rory Scovel, Mike Birbiglia, and James Adomain are all really funny and unique, give them a listen if you have some time.

I personally like Rex Navarrete :) but my favorite comedian of all time is Robin Williams and from recent years is Jimmy Fallon.

George Carlin and Richard Pryor

He's been dead since 2005, sadly, but I'm still hung up on Mitch Hedberg.

"Last time I called shotgun we had rented a limo, so I messed up!"

"I had the cab driver drive me here backwards, so the dude owed me $ 27.50."

"I tried to throw a yo-yo away. It was impossible."

He had the stupidest, most hilarious one-liners ever. Also Russell Peters and Dan Nainan , both Indian. I know none of those are the hottest new thing, but I keep coming back to them. Big fan of Chris Rock too, and Eddie Murphy's Delirious. Louis CK I discovered pretty recently and he's amazing. His sketch about him planning to do a porno is gold.

More Hedberg:

My apartment is infested with koala bears. It's the cutest infestation ever. Way better than cockroaches. When I turn on the light, a bunch of koala bears scatter, and I don't want them to! "Hey - hold on fellas! Let me hold one of you, and feed you a leaf." Koala bears are so cute, why do they have to be so far away from me? We need to ship a few over, so I can hold one, and pat it on its head.

I had a bag of Fritos, they were Texas grilled Fritos. These Fritos had grill marks on them. They remind me of summer, when we used to fire up the barbeque and throw down some Fritos. I can still see my dad with the apron on. Better flip that Frito, dad, you know how I like it.

I like Bill Burr, Dave Atell and Mark Maron. Basically, if I was a straight, white American East Coaster, I'd be pretty much exactly like those guys. :woot:

Chris Hardwick, Hannibul Burress, Moshe Kashur, Natasha Legerro, Joe Rogan, my list just goes on and on. I'm a huge stand up nerd and one of these days I would like to try it out for myself as well.

All the people you just named are pretty high up on my list
I'm a stand-up nerd as well, I listen to hours of stand up every week. Hannibal Burress has especially been impressing me, I've been following him since his early 30 rock days and I'm glad he's making a name for himself.

Bill Hicks
Eddie Izzard
Marc Maron
Greg Proops
Eddie Pepitone
Jimmy Dore
Jim Gaffigan
Stewart Lee

Ya Hannibul rocks, one of my fave shows is the Eric Andre show because those two are a hilarious combo. This is all the stand up specials I have on my DVR:

Joe Rogan: Rocky Mountain High *
Artie Lange: The Stench of Failure
Tracy Morgan: Bona Fide
Eddie Murphy: Raw
Jerrod Carmichael: Love at the Store
John Leguizamo's Ghetto Klown
Tracy Morgan: Black and Blue
Kumail Nanjiani: Beta Male *
Dana Carvey: Squatting Monkeys Tell No Lies
Roseanne Barr: Blonde and B****in'
Kurt Metzger: White Precious
Bob Saget: That Ain't Right *
Whitney Cummings: I Love You
Sarah Silverman: We Are Miracles *
Steve Rannazzisi: Manchild *
Dave Chappelle: Killin' Them Softly *
Louis C.K.: Shameless
David Spade: My Fake Problems
Chris D'Elia: White Male. Black Comic *
Louis C.K.: Oh My God
Dave Attell: Road Work *
Patton Oswalt: Tragedy Plus Comedy Equals Time
Neal Brennan: Women and Black Dudes *
Hannibal Burress Live from Chicago *

I love all these comedians but the ones with the * are personal faves. I'd actually like to get the new DVR that has 1 TB HD and can record 6 shows at once but I don't want to lose all these great specials haha.

I've also been going to a lot of live shows since I moved out to Clearwater

Here is me Harland Williams and I:

And I've also got to see Dave Chappelle live a few months back as well as Bobcat Goldthwait but they didn't take pics

^Cool pics! :)

Wanda Skyes, saw her a couple of months ago, her opening act was funnier.
Amy Schumer, Whitney Cummings and Hannibal Burress. There's more, but I'm lazy.

Patrice O'neal (RIP)
Mike Epps
Todd Barry
Patton Oswalt
Bill Burr
Aziz Ansari
Dave Chappelle
Dave Attell

I basically only ever use Pandora for Louis CK, Patton Oswalt, Bill Burr, and George Carlin stations.

Anyone see Bill Burr's new Netflix special? ****ing gold.

Oh, and I also saw Cosby earlier this year before...um...certain things about him came to light. It was between seeing him and Daniel Tosh live, with my mother and older aunt and uncle. I thought Tosh would be tamer, especially since he got under fire for rape jokes.

Yeah...yeaaaaaaaah...

Ron James

Russell Peters

Rick Mercer

William Shatner

and yes I AM CANADIAN

I like a lot of already mentioned ones. Carlin, Pryor, Chappelle, early Eddie Murphy. But no one ever made me laugh as hard as John Pinette (RIP)

Bill Hicks
Louis CK
Woody Allen
Patrice O'Neal
Christopher Titus
Eddie Izzard
Jim Gaffigan

But Numero Uno on my list is Brian Regan. Holy crap he's funny.

Tonight I saw Whitney Cummings at an awards show. My friend said I completely fangirled out, all giggles, **** the ***** was funny. :o

Jim Norton
Jim Jefferies
Jim Breuer
Jim Florentine

Anyone named Jim is usually funny.

Colin Quinn is great too.

Pretty much any of the comedians who used to appear on Opie & Anthony are awesomely funny in stand-up as well. I'm into cringe comedy.

This is a great idea. I never use Pandora much for anything but now I've been listening to comedy on there. Funny thing is I've seen most of the stand up they are playing on there or am familiar with the comedians so I like to try and guess who is on there without looking at the screen

Bill Burr is coming to Clearwater on April 11th, I def will be getting tickets for that
