Maher did a brilliant take-down on all the PC idiots making a big deal out of his 'One Direction' joke in the latest Real Time in a segment aptly titled 'Explaining the joke to idiots.'

Unfortunately I can't repost here because of language.

Heh, that was good. He took a forgettable joke and made a very good one from its backlash.

A few comedians that I really like are Carlin, Louis CK, Gaffigan, Kevin Hart, Pyror, 80s Eddie Murphy, and Bill Burr. That's not an exhaustive list, of course; just a few off the top of my head.

Bill Burr and Louis are in my top three along with Patton Oswalt.
I've listened to Burr's material for a while now but I just recently started listening to everything I can find of him, from his various podcasts and interviews and bits on youtube that didn't make specials, the guy is fantastic.
I'll say this though, Carlin has never made me laugh. I admire what he's done for comedy and I understand his influence but I've listened to a couple hours of his material and never even cracked a smile.

I just saw it, and I don't buy it. He definitely would not have made that punchline without knowing about zayn's background.

Check out Jammin in New York. It's his best one. He had so many specials, and they're not all great.

It sounds like you took a intro class in Ethics and Equality, and are now just running with it in areas that you are completely oblivious to.

I don't care what it sounds like to you. I've already stated numerous times in this thread my stance on the topic, and the specific case of bill & zayn.

It's fine line comedians trend. George Carlin dropped the N word, rightfully saying it's all about context.

However, a comedian will alienate an audience if a joke goes too far. They know in order to stay in business they need to do so as little as possible. It's a skill, and even the professionals occasionally get called out once in a while.

I read this title as "Should Canadians Have Free Rein"...

And no, they should not. :argh:

:p
