Favourite Predator Design

What are everyone’s favourite Predator designs from the films?

Mine are:
Jungle Hunter (Predator)


The City Hunter (Predator 2)



Wolf (AVP: Requiem)



Feral Predator (Prey) I should add I did not like the CGI when he was unmasked, though!

It's the original for me. Can't go wrong with that Stan Winston goodness.

Also the original Jungle Hunter for me. There's an inherent sadism to that face that none of the others quite manage to convey. They look brutal, frightening, menacing, monstrous, sure. But none match that look of sadism and maliciousness that makes the original so disturbing to look at. It looks like it's somehow perpetually grinning with those mandibles.

The original is essentially perfect. It's an all-timer. No notes.

I think making it more tribal in PREY was a canny move. They'd been getting bigger and bulkier and the gear sleeker and more advanced. Smart move to go vaguely stone-age with the look. The face underneath still has nothing on the OG, but it's easily a strong 2nd for how it looks masked.

The original still stands as the best but Predators 2 design is underrated as it included some cool new weapons that became central to the character. Preys design was cool on paper but I wasn't feeling the execution that much.

Yeah definitely Jungle and City Hunter, as well as Wolf. Even though Wolf was pretty inept at his mission to eradicate the xenomorphs he was still quite awesome.

An honorable mention is Scarface from the Concrete Jungle video game.

In terms of the Feral Predator, he looked way better with the practical effects:

I've probably said this before, but nothing beats the overall designs of the classic Jungle Pred from Predator and the badass City Hunter Pred from Predator 2, especially with all the upgraded gadgets.

However, as far as facial designs go my personal favorites are the Super Predator from Predators and the Feral Predator from Prey, especially with the bone mask on. I just love the fact that both of them look far more bestial and monstrous than their predecessors which to me almost makes them scarier in a way.

The Feral Predator was probably my favourite Predator since City Hunter and Jungle Hunter.

Even though he was lacked much experience against a bear, a wolf, multiple Comanche warriors, French Trappers, he came out on top until Naru. Still gave off plenty of menace and badassery, especially with the weapons and kills, and Dane’s performance!

Also, the Elder from Predator 2 looked pretty cool, even though he was on screen very briefly.

I just don't get why we need bad CG constantly ruining good practical makeup and visual effects? The CG was the weakest aspect of this whole film.

Did it to The Thing prequel as well. Hurt what could've been a far better film.

Classic all the way. Generally all them were fine right up to the Super Predator in The Predator and then the feral design fell flat on it's face for me.

There are quite a few missing, i like the Berserker one from Predators...but you can go wrong with the Jungle Hunter.

In terms of the Feral Predator, he looked way better with the practical effects:

This is such a waste of Money and time, adding CGI to that.
They could have used the money and time on some of the other CGI scenes better.
This one just looks more "natural" Practial.

Crap, I forgot about Celtic from AVP, I thought his helmet and overall look was really cool as a kid when I first saw the film.

Its a the between wolf and OG for me and Elder from predator 2 in close second

It's always gonna be the original. Though there hasn't been one I disliked (the ones in the first AvP were too bulky for me), I did like the Feral Predator in Prey and Super Predator in Predators.

Wasnt a big fan of the Ultima Pred from The Predator either.
