There was a lot more to what I did than just click a mouse. As I said the background pic is one I took myself, and I cut out the spiderman picture. What I did had a few dozen steps to get the final image.Manips should be allowed but come on, that is just a filter on top of an official image. One, maybe two, clicks of a mouse in photoshop.
I think this will be the last time I enter something in this contest. Too much apples to oranges going on.
Original artwork vs swiped art from pros or photoshopped filtered pics.
I'm not knocking ya for doing it, but I don't want to put my 6-10 hours of original work up against it.
its more or less life size and hes hanging on the ceiling 5 meters high watching over ushope that 1 photo is enough...
Why not enter? If you have faith in your work and are proud of what you did post it. I like what I did a lot. It was fun to turn a photo into line-art. If you have seen my other manips you know that I do a nice job on them ( check out my man of steel poster ). If you don't think a photoshoped picture is art then there are a ton of people making money at it with advertizements you need to talk to.
Something new that I was playing around with. I would have colored it but I kind of like the b/w look.

If it was a photomanip of pieces/photos you had taken, so be it. But if you (or anyone) is using another artist's work in your piece, that doesn't sit right with me.
Perhaps I'm mistaken though. Is that Spider-man your drawing? Or did someone else do it?
I'm confused.
Uncle Belvis thank you for entering, but you must pick one and please edit out the other thank you.
As for those who are participating. These are supposed to be fun, why aren't yall letting it be? the rules are in the first post every thread, and they're slightly vague because art is subjective and i'm not trying to be an art-nazi and have a 100 rules for a contest that is just for fun.
we never had this much arguments in the olden days and we're only in the second month of this go round. If you use a reference or use art from something pre-existing, cite your reference.
if you have a problem with someone's art, come to me privately, via pm. if i haven't said anything about it, then assume that it's either permissible or that the user contacted me prior for permission, which has happened. there are lots of different forms of art and i'm pleased to see so many thinking outside the box already.
please continue to submit art if you haven't already as there is still a week and a half left in this competition
That can also get to be a real problem as it already did in the past - Criticism is fine - going overboard on criticism is not coolback in the old days it was kinda standard practice to keep the contest thread fairly complementary, and to post constructive criticism in people's personal threads...
it would be stupid to make a rule about this, but just something to think about... ... ... (did i just invite a lot of criticism?)![]()
Well said comicChick,
I was thinking of entering but after reading all the nit-picking going on in here had second thought's, why can't the guys treat it like the good old days .lol
Here's mine... unless I get something else done soon.
