FFIII Question

Call me noob all you want for asking this, but I need to know how to revive a killed character in FFIII. Bear in mind I've never played a FF before, so I am very unfamiliar to the universe. I can't find a revival potion or anything resembling a Poke-Center (Pokemon was the last full-blown RPG I played). Help!

I haven't played this particular FF, but have played everyone from 6 on besides it and FFXI. One of three things do it, 1. a phoenix down (like mentioned above), 2. a revive spell which usually doesn't come until mid way thru an FF, 3. resting in an inn.

No, the same thing happened to me. Resting did nothing to revive characters, though it did heal everyone else in my party.

Alright, I've just evaded the big dragon thing and escaped the nest, and shrunk one member of my team, but now what? I keep trying to use the Mini spell, but it won't let me.

BTW, whats all this talk about front-line and back-line characters?

put characters (in menu screen) in frontline if they do physical attacks. Put them in the back if they use magic.
