FIFA Women's World Cup Canada 2015

A FIFA tourney that isn't in a poorer country that shouldn't be spending billions on stadiums, or a country with human rights violations!

Japan, France, USA, Germany, Sweden, Brazil should be favorites. Darkhorses should be England, Canada, Norway, China, Australia, Netherlands, Spain, maybe New Zealand. Everyone else is there for the party. Nigeria gets screwed over most in the Group of Death, but could cause problems for the others.

USA-Sweden will be interesting in the group round...2nd place team would likely have to face Brazil (unless Spain or South Korea upset them) in the Round of 16.

Wish USA group were based in Montreal/east coast as I would have went. But the plus side to them being based on the West Coast...primetime soccer for us! All their group games start at 7 or 8pm ET I believe. Even when USA hosted in 1994 & women's in 1999 all the games were in the daytime I think.

I'm looking forward to it. I won't be going to Ottawa or Montreal for any games, but this will really boost the profile of association football across Canada.

I'd be interested to see this.

I'm watching Canada v China next week. Should be fun.

That being said, supporting Fifa in any way right now leaves me feeling a bit bitter.

South Korea is good but the US looked out of sync against them. Need to step it up, it won't be any easier next week.

Canada 1-0 China
New Zealand 0-1 Netherlands

FOX Sports GO is pretty cool. You can watch games using two other views besides the TV view.

Tactical View is a camera behind the net. And then you can watch using the camera on that zip line that hangs over the field. regular TV angle is still best though.

Saturday 06/06
Canada 1-0 China
New Zealand 0-1 Netherlands

Sunday 06/07
Norway 4-0 Thailand
Germany 10-0 Côte d'Ivoire

I was at the Canada game. We broke attendance records. It was a great experience and I'm glad that not only is soccer getting more attention, but women's soccer as well.

When does England play?

England plays France tomorrow at 2:00 pm local time... 1:00 pm EST... Probably 6:00 pm London time, I'm guessing...

Nigera-Sweden was a thriller.

Whoever wins USA-Australia is in good shape from that 3-3 tie.

3-1 USA with about five minutes left in the game...

That was a relief considering the first half was controlled by Australia. But they were getting gassed by the 70th minute after US weathered it.

Heath should start next game. Midfield actually got possession and Press was able to move up.

Japan-Switzerland should be good. Switzerland-Spain-Netherlands the best of the debut teams.

I had to follow the game online via twitter, work is really cramping my style.

France-England will be good. But for the loser - the 2nd place finisher is actually better off. Winner of that Group would probably have a tougher road to the Semi's based on the bracket (like facing Germany in QF barring a major upset for GER).
