Film director Robert Altman dies

Wow. That's a major bummer. Is he the third (Palance, Bradley, Altman)?

that sucks.. Ive been meaning to see Nashville and McCabe and Ms. Miller for so long now...

MASH is such a good movie too..

rip.

There have been a lot of celebrity deaths aside from Palance and Bradley as of late, but they were apparantly lesser known due to them being more of a niche entertainer.

Go see M*A*S*H if you haven't! Great film!

RIP Altman.

What the hell? One of the greats dies, and his thread has, what, 6 replies so far? Well done, Hypesters, well done. I'm sure when Paul WS Anderson dies there'll be 24 pages of mourners.

I actually enjoyed interviews with Altman and hearing him speak, etc. :(

There's more young'uns here then old'uns.

I saw this before. I suppose he was in his 80s, but it's still a surprise. He did just have a new movie out earlier this year.

Didn't he just release a movie too? I didn't see it but it looked good...
This sucks...

It's sad, really, didn't he just win the Lifetime Achievement Award at the most recent Oscars?
