Films that made you see an Actor/Director in a different light?

Chris Evans- Captain america
Peter Jackson- LOTR

I always liked Chris Evans since Cellular. Even though it wasn't so publicized, his frustration with the Fantastic Four films gave me new respect for him.

Real Steel.
I always saw Hugh Jackman as Wolverzine, just a straight up action guy. But when I saw Real Steel for the first time it really showed he has strong acting chops and can do a lot more than an action hero.

Hmmm, don't know if this would count. I've always been a big fan of Will Smith, but when I got the details of why he turned down Django Unchained ( a movie that QT actually wrote with Will Smith in mind) I'm not too sure if I like him anymore. :(

Man in the Iron Mask - Leo DiCaprio

Water for Elephants - Robert Pattinson

Me and Orson Welles - Zac Ephron

Oh that's the same for me. I couldn't believe he turned it down cause he wasn't the main star which is just BS anyway.
