Final Crisis: Rogues Revenge

Btw, little interesting tidbit of info, according to Waid's Flash issue 67, Abra Kadabra has been running around in the 20th century for ten years... so, dealing with the fact that Waid wrote that Wally became Kid Flash when he was 10, that would make Wally 20 at that point, if Abra Kadabra popped up around the same time as Kid Flash...

which would also make the current DCU timeline around 15 years old, correct?

Yes, you're approximately right. Batman's probably been operating for about 17, thanks to the last two years of real-time.

And Bruce started at 25, which makes him 42-ish...

Couple Flash questions: What issue did Walyl up his speed from sound to close-to-light? And what issue did he go to the Speed Force and back? And what issue did he have to stop eating alot of food to support his metabolism?

I think his power-up was first revealed in Flash vol. 2 #1, but it actually occurred, chronologically, in Crisis on Infinite Earths. I could be wrong, all my old Flash comics are definitely on the re-read list, but what old DC isn't, right?

It's been so long since I've read the old Flash comics, I'm basically just going off of dim memories and a brief discussion from the latest issue, in which Black Lightning says that the original powerup occurred as a result of a fight with the Anti-Monitor.

EDIT: Wikipedia suggests that it was Biography of Barry Allen, which sounds right.

The Biography of Barry Allen aka the Life Story of the Flash? Wasn't that an overall biography?

Yeah, but wasn't that put out as a tie-in with a story going on in the Flash book? Wikipedia refers to the story when Eobard Thawne resurfaced to fight Wally for the first time as when Wally "unlocked his full potential."

What I need to do is shut up and re-read the damn comics. I can't believe I'm failing this badly at remembering this stuff.

Or we could just get Corp in here. Corp remembers everything about Flash.

The Return of Barry Allen is when Thawne came back.

I prefer to do separate posts to respond to different people. Keeps them thematically consistent.
This ain't a novella, son. Try to use the edit button and/or multi-quote from now on. It keeps clutter down so there's not a whole page of just your posts. :)

I'm not sure about when Wally went up to light speed, but he entered the Speed Force and came back around Flash #100. I think that's the exact issue but I'm not entirely certain. It was in the "Terminal Velocity" arc. Prior to actually entering the SF, he brushed against it a few times and came back as an energy being temporarily, which terrified him, but ultimately he made it in and out unscathed because he had his love for Linda to home in on.

Corp, try and use that edit button so the forums arn't so cluttered.

I merged them.

Ah, right, I think I remember that now. Wally's speed of sound limitation turned out to just be a psychological block to keep himself from surpassing Barry Allen, so after "Barry" (actually Thawne) was turning all villainous on him, he finally broke that barrier to take Thawne down. Or something like that--I'm not entirely certain on the details. I can check when I get home if anyone really cares that much.

You should add that **** to Wikipedia, so six months from now when I do decide to look it up, I can just head over there to check, and see that it got deleted two days after you added it for being a piece of information that somebody somewhere might find it useful to know

Meh. I tried writing stuff for Wikipedia before and found it had a lot of rules and regulations that distract from simply contributing to an article. I know they're there for good reason, since there are plenty of 'tards who'll add nonsense to articles for the lulz, but much like DRM mostly aggravates the people who would've bought games and music legally, Wiki's rules make me not want to jump through hoops to contribute to articles.

I usually don't add to wiki but I'll delete ********. For instance there was a bunch of Anti Christ bull on Barack Obama's site. How droll.

:doom: :doom: :doom:

I use Wikipedia all the time now. A few years ago you might of had a case, but for the most part Wikipedia is pure fact, as the regulations on it have gotten to such a point where they don't lety ou add a buncha ******** on it.

I don't think Rogue's Revenge was belittling Wally. Barry is different from Wally, he was basically more serious about things from what I could tell; settling the differences between these characters is a good thing, I think.

Now, when Johns starts liberally sprinkling in descriptors like "rookie" and "sidekick" and "kid" into the story, then let's talk. Not that I'm particularly thinking of any instances where he had done this to anyone, of course, but I think we'll know when Johns is trying to belittle someone.

Captain Cold: Boy, Wally West wasn't serious about his job at all, and really never had to work hard or do anything. He's barely a superhero, or a human being, really.
Weather Wizard: But Barry Allen was serious. He was really serious. He was so serious, he could kill us by pointing at us and saying "Yahtzee." I kind of want to get pregnant with his baby.
Geoff Johns: Yeah, me too.

Yeah, I thought that was a really revealing conversation.

After all this time i've been away, You're still an idiot.

Umm this is supposed to be sarcastic right? Because he did call him kid.

So you delete facts because you disagree with them?

Wow, that was a stupid thing to say.

Honestly with Wiki for the most part there isn't any good reason for the rules and regulations. They're basically there for the express purpose of keeping you from adding information about the Flash that people interested in that character would find it worthwhile to know.

I don't recall Johns ever having anyone refer to Wally as "kid" at any point during Rogue's Revenge. You're probably thinking of when they talked about Bart.
