Final Fantasy Agito XIII (PSP):

-The game was moved to the Playstation Portable because they could no longer wait for Mobile Phones to get more advanced. (Good for us!)
-The battles will be heavy in action but still have some turn based elements to them. The game will use an advanced version of Crisis Core's ATB system. (If your a long term reader of the site, you'll know we all loved Crisis Core!)
-While Crisis Core only contained one player (Zack), there will be multiple characters in the party for this title! (Score!)
-Right now the title supports Infrastructure Multiplayer for up to three players.
-Summons will be a part of the character growth system. Players will be able to control summons after summoning them!
-A new screen shot with Odin is shown.
-The game will support both Ad-Hoc and Infrastructure. (This means there will be online multiplayer of some kind! This is the perfect time to join the community and get to know other fans before playing the game together!)

FF games seem to be all that's fueling the PSP at the moment. I gotta get Crisis Core at some point.

New details!

October 22, 2008 - In stark contrast to the story-filled pages on Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Famitsu's coverage of Fabula Nova Crystallis in its latest issue is filled with quite a bit of gameplay, complete with battle system info.

In Agito, you play as a student who attends a magic school. Following an attack on your capital city of Rebrum by the Empire of Milites, which uses its own technology to make the crystals of its opponents ineffective, your fellow students end up leading the cause to free the city.

Students in your school all have their own specialties when it comes to weapons. When you first start out the game, you get to select the character type of your preference.

The game's battle system has the look of a traditional menu-based system, with a menu offering selections for attack, heal, and classic Final Fantasy spells. You face off against both soldiers from the invading army and against monsters.

Famitsu offers a look at characters who make use of whips, cards, and katana blades as their weapons (strangely, the screens in the magazine have the characters listed with their weapons as their names). Each weapon has its own unique characteristics which you'll have to make proper use of in order to be successful on the battle field.

In addition to weapons, you also make use of summon spells, with past creatures like Odin and Ragnarok confirmed for appearance. The summoned beast appears in place of your character, and is directly controllable by you. As previously disclosed, there's a raising component to the game when it comes to the summons.

Given the gameplay-filled sequences shown in Famitsu and in the more recent trailers, Agito looks like it's far along in development. Hopefully, the wait won't be too long for this particular branch of the Fabula Nova Crystallis series.

I'm starting to be wary of FF games. FFXII didn't have many interesting characters, XIII is a chore to play and their online game XIV was pretty much unfinished. I hope they can deliver the goods with Type-0 and Versus XIII.

But having said that, those screens look great.

Yay a FF game that actually looks good. Here's the official traielr for the game which is set to be released this Oct in Japan

I'm not crazy about the anime university feel, but I love overworld and i love how SE always raises the bar on the PSP's graphical capabilities. I just hope the story isn't as pretentious and horrible as FFXIII.

Cool...can't wait too play it...& wait too God Eater 2 in 2012
