Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children arrives FINALLY on April 25th

Which was frikin sweet to watch. In the animation they took account for the recoil, which I thought looked excellently realistic. :D
um, dude? "Realistic" is the LAST word you want to use to describe the physics in this movie.

Finally saw it last night, and I did not care that much for the english voices, I'll be watching it in Japanese from now on. Cloud's was alright, but that was pretty much it for me, everyone else just sounded off in one way or another.

As for the movie itself: yeah, lacking in decent plot (why the hell did they kidnap the kids? anyone?) The wacky physics also took me out of it. This isn't Dragonball Z. I could stand for most of the jumping around, but that scene where
Cloud rockets up into the air towards Bahamut and the others all leap after him, and give him a boost? THAT MAKES NO FRIKKIN SENSE!!!!!
. There was also zero exposition, most people not familiar with the game won't understand a thing.

I was only commenting on one scene for the physics. When Yazoo was shooting at Cloud in the Forgotten City. That's the one detail I liked most because the animators accounted for the recoil of the gun. I'm not speaking for the physics as a whole.

Ya, the whole Cloud going up real high thing was kind of .........weird.

Anyone know which Bahamut that was anyway?

And I want to know is why the crap Aerith kept showing up!!!! She's dead. She wasn't acting like she was dead!!!! Why did she keep coming back?

cloud's ascencion gave me a geekasm and i haven't even played the game.

who cares of physics, it looks awesome

:o

Yeah i know what you mean, i would rather they just stayed on the floor during the sword fights as then we could have seen the moves a lot better. I hated all the flying around in the Sephiroth fight.

The only way I could justify all the flying around was that they were experiments and somewhat superhuman. So if you can see them as mutated projects then it kinda makes more sense.

that might work for Cloud and Vincent, but not the others

and Sephiroth

but.......ya that's true................hmmmmm.................how do we justify that......

Cloud wasnt a Soldier though, he never had the experiments, it was Zack.

:o Cloud had MAKO eyes.....................there for *experiment*

Watch the reminiss on the DVD, it was Zack in Soldier, not Cloud, even in the film it shows a flashback of Zack and Cloud:

Zack: " So you wanna be is Soldier huh? Well hang in there. Cloud took Zacks sword and used it on Sephirot and then Zack was killed by Shinra soldiers, after they both escaped to Midgar, then Cloud took his sword permanently.

but Cloud WAS experimented on. After the Sephiroth incident, I think it was Hojo who messed with him and Zack at the Nibelheim mansion, until they escaped, and Zack dragged Cloud, who was a vegetable, to Midgar. Cloud had Jenova cells implanted in him, which was why he was drawn to the reunion, and why Sephiroth was able to control him

HAHA!!!!!!!!!!! :D

2 - 1

See, I knew what I was talkin about. :)

oh, and Vincent: what was with the scene where he first appeared? It made no sense. My fiance pointed out to me that when we first see him in the game, he flies out of his coffin, but he never does it again. Weird.

Didnt remember that bit, it wasnt in the reminiss, i remember Cloud being a vegetable in the back of the van, but i thought that was after they both escaped from the Sephiroth incident.

it was. After the Sephiroth incident, they were both wounded and recovered by Shinra, who experimented on them in the basement of Shinra Mansion. THAT'S where they escaped from.

Vincent should of done one of his limit breaks :( those things were awesome in the game

Dont, remember that bit at all, it was nearly 10 year since i have played but why wasnt it in the reminiscense on the DVD? You seem to know what you are talking about though so i'll trust your judgement. This can only make me enjoy the movie more!!!!

Hey, it was a big, complex game, nothing wrong with not remembering EVERYTHING. My memories a little fresher since my fiance played through it again in '03/'04 or thereabouts, and I watched most of the game again then.

This is why they should make a movie of the first game.

I know they were great, the way they used to attack everyone, Vincent was my second favourite character behind Cloud in FFVII, it was great to see his conribution to the Bahamut fight.

of this calibre CGI? Even if they cut out all the side-quests, random battles, and half the plot, that would still be a ten hour movie, and cost $500 million dollars

Vincent was cool CHARACTER, but I didn't care for his LBs since you lost control of him, and also his stats were pretty weak

my team was always Cloud, Tifa, and Cid

Ok thanks for correcting me, i like gaining more knowledge about things like this. I might have to play it again, just to enjoy the movie that bit more. I've just started VIII again because that was the one i got least involved with.

my teams were

Cloud, Tifa, Aerith (til she died)

then it was Cloud, Tifa, Vincent (cuz he usually got 2 shots in)
