Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core (First images)

is this the game where vincent has a gun and it's kinda like a shooter?

i thought the first pics were released with advent children dvd

which would have been ages and ages ago...

edit:wrong game although images still look like i've seen them on advent children's bonus disc

No, the game with Vincent as the main character is called Dirge of Cerberus for the PS2. Crisis Core focuses on the events before Sephiroth went amok in Nibelheim and Zack is suppossed to be the main focus.

And all we saw on the Advent Children DVD, were short scenes from the Anime Last Order.

The game has been announced ages ago, but there was never any footage released so far. And I don't know about the US DVD release of Advent Children, but on the Japanese DVD there was a Crisis Core Trailer that was compiled out of scenes from the Anime.

i've got the uk release one.

if i remember, i'll have a look tonight to check.

you play as zach before the events of FFVII? sounds good, but why are they making all these side movies and games and no remake?

i want my remake!!!

Maybe because there is no need for a remake. And Square Enix is concentrating on bringing the first 6 Final Fantasy games onto Nintendo handhelds and expanding the world of Final Fantasy VII.

I too would like to have a remake of FFVII, but I'd also be happy enough with a simple port to the PSP. Say, isn't the PSP some time supposed to play downloaded PS1 games?

That's a great idea to port the Playstation Final Fantasy games to the Playstation Portable, just like they ported the Nintendo and Super Nintendo Final Fantasy games to the Game Boy Advance.

Though Square Enix should do something about the mobile phone games. No one really does that in the United States too much. They should port them to the Game Boy Advance.

there are like, a million or so people who would disagree with you, but...

honestly, no need for a remake? okay, i guess there is no "need" for a remake, but it would be nice to have one on next gen systems.

I am obviously in the minority opinion, but why remake the story when you can expand upon it. And unlike other games such as Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil, Final Fantasy has aged pretty well if you ask me.

To be fair, the game play in MGS Twin Snakes was improved tremendously through the use of the MGS2 engine and the Resident Evil remake was leagues ahead of the original.

That being said, I don't think an FFVII remake can do much to improve it other than graphically.

Exactly, the original Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil aged horribly (Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake are in need of a remake, badly).

Though the remake of Metal Gear Solid did make it a little too easy, they should have stuck to the original music and kept the same voices for Grey Fox and Naomi Hunter. But over all it was a very good remake.

The graphics of Final Fantasy VII may be outdated but still aged very well unlike Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil. There is no need to tweak the gameplay at all either. Instead of remaking the game, Square Enix is on the right path of expanding the story of the game through various games, animes, novels, and movies.

The new music in the Twin Snakes pissed me off though. The original soundtrack was gorgeous. The death of Sniper Wolf, the scene where Snake tells Naomi that Big Boss was his father, the scene where Naomi reveals that Grey Fox was her brother, and others just weren't as powerful with new music.

I concur. I also did not care for Naomi's new voice actress and hope they get the original for MGS4.

Naomi's new voice sucked. It annoyed me more than the music. The only voice changes I liked were Mei Lings (she was born and raised in America, she shouldn't have a heavy Chinese accent for a rather Americanized woman) and Frank Jaeger (his voice sounded more like he was dead) but the Cyborg Ninja voice should have remained the same as the original Metal Gear Solid.

Same voice actress, they (Silicn Knights) asked her and the rest of the Voice Actors to drop their accents and sound more subdued to appeal more to the American market.

They should Remake FF6 first.

Agreed 100 percent. I think Square-Enix should stop focusing on just Final Fantasy VII and maybe give us some other spinoffs. I personally wouldn't mind a REAL follow up to Chrono Trigger.

I'm with the FF6 Remake...
The Twin snakes, although a pretty game kinda butchered MGS... Too easy, Crappy Music selection, Emotionless voiceacting, lines were cut off like Ocelot "I love to reload during a battle, There's nothing like the feeling of slamming a long silver bullet into a well greased chamber! (That's my exit windows sound for now) The earpull line from Vulcan Raven... and the best line ever... a SURVEILLANCE CAMERA?!!!! was radically toned down to hmm! a surveillance camera.
And last but not least Snake is freaking Dante... He surfed a Missile!? I can't wait for the Sons of Liberty Remake... there Raiden WILL BE DANTE as well...
