Final Opinion on Sticky as Blade, based on Season 1?

whaddya think?

He's all right. He's no Snipes and Michael Jai White still would've been better. Biggest problem is that he doesn't come off as that great of a fighter, which makes you wonder how NO vamp's ever taken this guy out. I understand they needed to up the suspense by downplaying his powers, but surely he could be shown moving a little faster or taking out a few minor vamps without any problem.

At first I was luke warm towards him, but he's gotten better as the season progressed. Now I like him, they really just need to work on his fighting/action scenes. The season finale was a step up, hopefully they'll continue to get better if there's a second season.

I thought he was very awkward and kind of slow in the beginning, but he really has made the role his own over the season. If they don't bring this show back then what has Spike TV have to offer? The dudesons? Re-runs of Star Trek TNG? Give the show at least 1 more season.

I like him, but there's still room to grow.

I like him. I didnt so much at the start, but he got better EVERY episode. I still say there could have been some better choices, but i think he did a fantastic job, and really hope to see him again in season 2.

Improvement is always welcome. But as you said, Pat, here we're talking about consistent improvement. That counts for a lot. Give him another season & he'll be fantastic.

Sticky has shown consistent improvement, but I still wish they'd gotten Mike Jai White. At this point, I'd give Kirk a 7/10.

I love Sticky as part of the cast, not as a single entity. With all the elements of the show, along with the rest of the cast, he's enjoyable. I just shudder at how much more awesome this show would have been if Snipes was Blade.

Sticky's Blade has an advantage that Snipe's Blade doesn't. Sticky's Blade actually plans his attacks beyond "I go inside the building and KILL EVERYONE." Sticky's plans are more "I scope out the place, I get some inside intelligence, I pick off the vamps one at a time, then I get the hell out of here."

^ That's because it's a tv show and characters have to take things progressively, in order to keep the interest in the show alive. Snipes just had to be as cool as possible in the span of two hours. :)

I don't think he's quite as awful as people would have us believe. He's far from amazing, but he got the job done.

I only wish the writers would make it a little easier to empathise with him. Until they do, Blade remains one of my least favourite characters in the show.

I've come to accept him. Some of his line deliever is still a little stiff, but he definitely brings some personality to the role. Some of it is him emulating Snipes, but more and more over the season, he steered away from that and started adding his own flair. I like the brief moments of humor, as well as the fact that he's not always wearing the sunglasses. It's good to see the actor's eyes, and how they act through them. I loved when he killed Charlotte, and he snatched off his glasses, and you could see just how satisfied he was to have killed her, especially after getting worked over by her bodyguard.

True.
