I just watched it. I'm a DC guy myself but honestly, any self-respecting comic geek will have a ***** when they watch that scene.

Anyway, I can't think of any reason why Thor would leave Mjolnir behind like that.

He gets cast down to earth without it. Mjolnir is the source of his powers. I guess somebody sends it to earth when things heat up.

Well just saw the scene posted somewhere since whomever I go with won't let me wait around until after the credits. Shocked it's been up there as long as it has. Not much too it at all IMO. If that's what the whole Avengers buildup in the movie is leading up to, at least in that respect, it shouldn't be an issue.

Saw images of the final credit scene, and my only complaint is that the crater wasn't big enough.

Thanks a lot, MTV. All I wanted to see was a picture of Thor, but they practically give away the final scene of IM2.

Would have loved to see Thor's arm jolt up out of nowhere clutching at Mjolnir. It was a nice scene but just lacking a certain something that would have made it epic. Even a lingering shot of Mjolnir with dramatic music would have given the scene that missing epicness. Unfortunately the screen fades to black way too quickly.

What I'd like to see after the credits of Iron Man 2...

At the end of Iron Man 2, Tony Stark has agreed to join Nick Fury's Avengers.

AFTER CREDITS

Fade in on a large room filled with monitor banks. Agent Coulson leads Tony Stark into the room, where Nick Fury stands in front of a large monitor.

FURY
Mr. Stark. There's something I want you to do for me.

STARK
Oh? What's that?

FURY
I believe you're familiar with a man named General Ross?

STARK
Thunderbolt Ross?

FURY
Yes. I want you to go and talk to him. I believe he has information on someone we feel would be an asset to our team.

Fury turns and presses a button on a remote control. The large monitor switches on to shaky, handheld footage of the Hulk fighting the Abomination.

STARK
Oh. That'll be fun.

COULSON
Think yourself lucky. You don't have to recruit this guy.

The image changes to unclear footage a tall, blonde man swinging around what appears to be a large hammer. Suddenly, electricity begins to crackle around him and the image dissolves into static.

STARK
Whoa. Who was that?

Fury turns to Stark with a grin.

FURY
His name is Thor.

CUT TO BLACK.

Hey, I was kinda right! It involved Coulson and Thor, anyway!

It's only fair that Europe gets the earlier release date once in a while, after all 9 times out of 10 the US get the release first. Of course in an ideal world there would be global release dates.

I had a huge fangasm when I saw this scene, I really wasnt not expecting it. I know they told us it would tie into the avengers somehow but I thought it would be mention rather than seeing something.

I'd be willing to bet it would be Fury and possibly Betty Ross finding Cap in the ice. But it wouldn't be a clear image, only his shield would be clearly visible.

We did see it there, but Favreau said it had nothing to do with the story. Cap and the shield are still in Antarctica. I just like to think that Tony had a replica or it was a hologram.

Actually Stark has Cap's sheild in IM2 remember.

Also...people dont forget cap had two different shields.

It was a prototype as far as I'm concerned, the thing Stark had looked plastic and was falling apart.

It was just unfinished. I think stark will finish it for cap.
