First came Pirates of The Caribbean, then The Haunted Mansion, now comes...

This makes perfect sense .

Don't forget about the "Country Bears" Disney movie. That was also based on one of their theme park attractions.

So let's see...

Country Bears = bomb
Haunted Mansion = bomb
POTC = gigantic hit (despite increasing stupidity in the sequel)

Jungle cruise = ? ...right, huge bomb.

Next up -- It's a Small World - the movie!

I think if done right it could be good. Mix Indiana Jones with Pirates, throw in a bit of Heart of Darkness and I think it could be pretty good.

After the success of POTC and the sequel, there will be more and more of these amusement park movies, and then studios will realize that particular subgenre is much trickier than it seems and that sort of premise is way too thin to be made to work again and again.

Jungle Cruise??? . . . . I don't think it'll work.

They should base a movie off of the Jurassic Park ride in Universal Studios.

They should make a movie with people having meetings on making movies about amusement park rides.

I love these movie reviews where the reviewer pictures the studio executives meeting where the idea of the movie came up... There´s a pretty funny one about Dukes Of Hazzard, for instance... Don´t remember the reviewer...

"Guys I finally checked out that Jungle Cruise. Two words. Mooooo-vieeeeee."

After POTC3, I don't think we will get to see some another good park movie or even POTC's movie.

Check this out:

Jungle Cruise Ride

If you haven't been on the ride or forgot about it, here's a video to watch that takes you on the ride.

How about Hall Of Presidents?

Ooh..I'll write to Six Flags/WB, tell them to make a Great American Scream Machine movie. And the sequels, Mindbender, and The Georgia Scorcher.

Haunted Mansion did not bomb, it made quite a bit of money.

This is smart to create another movie based on a ride, it proved fruitful before, and it can be fruitful again. The familarity with the ride is a good stepping stone to gaining familarity with the film.

Question though, is there any narrative with the ride itself? I know The Pirates of the Carribean was short on narrative, which enabled the filmakers to run with it, they could create another Indiana Jones type franchise in the vein of POTC which could be fun.

Or it could be a complete waste of time.

Dude, make a sci-fi horror movie like Westworld where the presidents gain sentience and start to kick some ass all over Disneyland! :D

Nah, we've already got Batman movies. It might get confusing. The others are their own thing, they are truly movie material. When I was there in July, the Mindbender is climbing the hill and I thought: "OMG...this should be a movie!"

At first, I was thinking the exact same thing- how the hell?! But, after "being on the ride" I actually think this has a shot. There isn't too much of a plot to the ride. It has ALOT to explore and discover.

The best way to do this is to take it on as a jungle adventure sort of film. Which, let's face it- we haven't had in a while. You've got LOTS of interesting animals and that ancient cave/temple type place could provide for an amazing action sequence. Perhaps, cliche-I know, the villains are poachers? Such as in the ride and there is a big final confrontation in there- that would be cool. And then encountering the natives. The ride doesn't have a great narration and at first you think, "what the hell?" But, there is actually ALOT of ways that this film could turn out to be great. I say give it a shot, let's hope they are going in the right direction. And this could be a really fun and exciting film.

It has alot more going for it than Haunted Mansion did which was restricted to the haunted mansion. This film could be an amazing african safari film, a trek out into the jungle. An action/adventure thrill ride filled with stampeding animals, encounters with elefants in the wild, attacks from lions, and the like... etc. Just look at the scene of the rhino and the guys climbing up the pole and now transfer that into a film- you've got one heck of a thrilling scene if done right.

So, at first I though- how the hell? But, now after seeing that video of the ride I definitely see potential. If you haven't been on the ride or don't remember it- watch the video- and you'll probably see the way that this can go.

I see Jurrassic Park, with African animals and the like.... without the whole themepark aspect. Mixed with a Indiana Jones type tone. I just.... I feel like it has alot of potential.

I think Jungle Cruise could actually work.

Wasn't there supposed to be one based on the Mattahorn (Sp?) The one with the yeti in it.
