HOLY CRAP! That is feckin awesome. Looks a bit rubbery/plasticky and I'm a tiny bit dissapointed about the lack of muscle, but other than that Chris Hemsworth is Thor! Chris Nolan needs to take some pointers about properly adapting a costume from Branagh.

Looks very dramatic and opera like. The way it should be. Still trying to figure out what this gash looking thing is:

I suspect it's the seam of his outer tunic. Notice how the comic version is actually made up of two pieces, with the outer part having a gold seam that runs behind the discs?

It looks like they've kept that design for the film (although it looks like they might've changed it to silver instead of gold).

I am really happy with everything we have seen so far. It is quite obvious that Marvel and Branagh know what they are doing with this character.

question what's the deal with the center part of his outfit???
What is that????
And why???
And....Oh my Gosh!!!What if he doesn't have a helmet because they want to add in the Ultimate look???????

I have a feeling that the rubbery/plasticy look will be touched up in post to make it more of a ruggedized metal.

Hmmm. I wonder what the blurry thing behind him is. Maybe Odin's throne?

How about he isn't wearing a helmet... because he took it off?

Well yeah DUH my only thing is I HOPE THAT'S WHY HE DOESNT HAVE IT!!!
BECAUSE HE TOOK IT OFF!!!!
NOT BECAUSE THEY WANTED ADD IN AN ULTIMATE ELEMENT!!!

:awesome: I love it...
NOW BRING ON THE BAD ASS KNOWN AS CAPTAIN AMERICA!:woot:
... Oh and lets get a look at Loki too...

I hope he has the helmet too, but I wouldn't be too broken up if they just didn't give him one.

Wasn't the helmet described by someone who saw it on the set?

That is the vibe I get. This almost looks like he has just been cast out by Odin and he is walking away frustrated.

The destroyer and Thor within a couple of days of each other.

Lovin the pic. Thor is looking better and better each day!

Pretty cool! Chris really has the look and even the long hair doesn't look stupid...the costume design is great, but my only problem is that the material looks kinda fake in this pic, like rubber. first I thought they put his head on a action-figure body :oldrazz: but I have the hope that it'll look better in the movie, because stills often don't do this kinda stuff justice...

so overall I am very happy with the design and this pic moves the film right behind Green Lantern on my most-wanted-list!

I have to say that at this point THOR is ahead of Green Lantern on my must see list... and i'm much more of a DC guy than a MARVEL guy... i think it's a mixture of actually seeing this pic and being apprehensive about GL being shot in 3D. Hopefully both will be face meltingly awesome :oldrazz:

Now that Iron Man 2's just about released, I guess the Marvel media machine has turned its eye toward Thor. Which is awesome. :hehe:

It's about damn time, if i do say so myself :)

I think you're right Jak.

Amazing pic, it looks better than i thought it would. I agree it does look a bit rubbery but I'm cool with that, just need to see a pic of Cap now and i'll be more than happy.

I was thinking the same thing. He just got his ticket for a one-way trip to New Mexico.

Green Lantern was never even in the running for me. I'll probably watch it eventually, but I'm not too excited for it.
