"First Teaser-Trailer" Thread

Just to clear this up, you're comparing 2nd, 3rd and possibly 4th trailers with a teaser. For instance, how much "action" was in Dark of the moons "teaser" How much action was in the first TF's teaser. The big money shot in ASM was some wonky fps footage(that I just noticed wasn't really in the film lol).

I'm pretty sure the TASM one with him crawling across buildings and swinging to the camera that ripped off some game was the teaser.
"Secrets that are kept from us...."blah

Same with Total Recall.

Transformers, I don't know what the teaser was.:woot:

All that being said, this trailer had a great deal more scope and even action than the returns trailer did.

any word on if Nolans name is on the Trailer?
It was on the CC one, with 'director of the Dark Knight Trilogy'.

I'm pretty confident that it will look and sound really nice, with big action et al. But the jury's still out on Snyder as a storyteller..and even with a script with Nolan's fingerprints...with Snyder's rewrites, there's still a lot of grey area.m I think the cast will be fine.

He used the Nolan's BB formula for casting, that's for sure. Cast a stellar cast and you'll get stellar performances... unless you're Lucas.

Yeah, it takes more than just the casting, but it is nice when you can bring some more weight to the supporting roles like that. And yeah Lucas could even make Daniel Day Lewis seem insignificant. :oldrazz:

Can't find anything but a crappy quality done from 1000 yards away with 3 tiny screens. Is that the best there is? :S

That's the Donner formula. Nolan followed it very well with his Batman movies and it looks like Snyder did the same for Man of Steel.

This is just a tease.

Cavill sounded really impressive btw.

I think the Salkinds hired Brando before they hired Donner.

From what I can make out from the crappy quality video filmed from 2km away, I 'm really liking what I'm seeing.

Sorry if this was already asked but what was the song in the trailer? It sounds like "Time" from Inception but I'm not sure.

It's "Journey to the Line" from The Thin Red Line. One of my all-time favorite Zimmer tracks.

I'm liking what I'm hearing!

And I love that people are getting chills from it. Didn't get chills from Thor.

Superman just has that sense of awe that no other hero has.

just now remembered Cavill has a think british accent. Good show.

Even if that's true, Donner still loaded the rest of the cast with great actors. Nolan said this had a huge influence on him when he started working on Begins.

It's not really that imo, it's just that Snyder is shooting big whereas marvel pre(and in ways post whedon) was shooting for TNT or something. If Snyder director thor, I'm pretty sure it's trailer would have been more on the epic side.
(same with cap)

I doubt it. Snyder's other movies were more about being badass.

DC's heroes have a sense of grandness to them and Superman embodies that most. They're inspirational and aspiring. The dialog wouldn't fit Thor at all. What's was his again? "You're a vain, greedy, cruel boy."

"Try the man of steel trailers, they're breathetaking"

I know for a fact that I got chills watching the teaser. Was quite impressed.

It looks like the movie that Singer should have done and honestly what I would have expected out of him after Xmen when he was announced as director.

The big difference is that before, it was a 'return' of Supes into a world that already knew of him. This one takes advantage of introducing the phenomenon of Superman to its world as something new and unknown and fearsome and awe-inspiring, etc. I think a lot of people are naturally welcoming a fresh new take.

Yeah, this hopefully is the kick in the arse the character needs. Returns has it's heart in the right place, but it wasn't what Big Blue needed, it's too much of a semi-sequel, quasi-reboot, blatant-homage type of thing, and frankly just wasn't that good a film. This looks promising, it looks like a 21 Century Superman film.
