My heart was literally POUNDING before I watched this teaser. They took most of them down so I had to settle for the leaked version from somebody's phone at SDCC. Right away, the entire tone and mood put a tear to my eye. This looks so incredibly deep with emotional plot that this movie could DEFINE the DC Nation. Some parts I couldn't tell what was going on, but reading the description, I'm even MORE excited than I ever have been. Bring on July 20th!
Am I the only one hoping to see some of Snyders trademark style!
I would love to see some Epic shots of Superman in Slo-Mo and really hope there are some. I've been around on youtube and a lot of people are saying no to it but I think it's amazing and Snyder does do it in style and he would bring some very Kinetic moments visually in slo-mo awesomeness.
But so far I seem to be the only one asking for it.
I think that's more of a job for the first official trailer. As a teaser this early, it's still fine to hint of something major on the horizon...even if it's 'Superman again'. Material-wise, there seems to be just enough to imply that this won't be just another nostalgic walk down Heritage Lane or what have you. From what I've seen of the low-quality bootleg footage from Comic-Con, yes I'm sure the trailer is going to impress those who were really anticipating this movie.
But based purely on what I've seen, and what I've heard about the teaser in front of TDKR being called more of an "announcement piece"... I'm not sure if I agree with the marketing strategy here. And no, this isn't because I'm a huge Superman fan and I lack patience. Obviously I want a full length trailer with all the splendor... but I'm pretty sure that's what this film needs too. This franchise doesn't have the benefit of reputation anymore. Superman Returns left a bad taste in everybody's mouth and it was really only a few years go.
Yes the trailer appears to be good but it may not be enough to get the proper amount of buzz required to push this thing into high gear. If they really want to put their stamp on this thing and say "This is ****ing Superman god damnit and you should be excited"... then I think they need to show a little more and leave the people in the audience with their jaws on the floor.
If the general consensus after the trailer is simply "That new Superman movie looks interesting"... then they may have failed. It should leave people saying, "Wow I can't wait to see ****ing Superman".
But time will tell. I hope I eat my words.
First you tease the audience. Get them mildly curious, or even interested. Then you blow their minds with a trailer a little down the road.
Teaser trailers are slowly becoming full trailers.
First impressions are everything though, as you can only "tease" something when there's a genuine interest there to begin with. And you must first create that interest.
With a teaser trailer.
No, but there were at least two scenes never included in the theatrical version of the film.
Can an average looking chick with no overt sexual qualities show you some cleavage and get you excited?
Yes, she can. And watch the language, cause you're likely looking at a ban.

Superman may me Superman, and yes he's arguably the most iconic fictional character in American mythology... but the general audience has already been there and done that. And it wasn't that long ago. Had it not been for Superman Returns I'd have said fine, go with a teaser. But we are beyond that point now. In this era of reboots and remakes, the audience might grow tired of another attempt at rehashing another iconic film franchise. You can't simply just throw the bait out there and hope they bite, because they may not. If you want to create buzz for this movie, I think you have to knock their socks off and go full on with the trailer. I really do. I mean of course I may be wrong... but that's just how I feel right now.
Give the audience more than just a small taste right now. Give them something they could live with and stew over until the Superbowl, and THEN go for the kill. If by that point there isn't a fever pitch anticipation (like Avengers), then I believe they may have failed.
This is Superman. Act like it.
And that has to do with what exactly? I'm confused.
From what I could hear from it, it sounded spectacular. Hope this proves to be Snyder's finest work.
Is the music original?
