FRIDAY JULY 25

11:55am-1:00pm Warner Bros.: Watchmen—

A complex, multi-layered mystery adventure, Watchmen is set in an alternate 1985 America in which costumed superheroes are part of the fabric of everyday society, and the "Doomsday Clock"— which charts the USA's tension with the Soviet Union—is permanently set at five minutes to midnight. When one of his former colleagues is murdered, the washed-up —- but no less determined —- masked vigilante Rorschach sets out to uncover a plot to kill and discredit all past and present superheroes. As he reconnects with his former crime-fighting legion—a ragtag group of retired superheroes, only one of whom has true powers —- Rorschach glimpses a wide-ranging and disturbing conspiracy with links to their shared past and catastrophic consequences for the future. Their mission is to watch over humanity...but who watches the Watchmen?

Because their power is derived from delivering high-profile entertainment to a hungry mainstream audience and from cultivating a rabid, pseudo-religious fan following. Listen as they engage in a free-wheeling conversation on the movie business, their upcoming projects, and what it means—to them—to be a geek. This is definitely my first priority at Comic Con. I can honestly say I don't care if I miss anything else, as long as I see the Watchmen I'm happy!

I was going to be the News reporter on everything watchmen for this forum, but I didnt get my tickets in time :csad:

Anyone here willing to record the watchmen movie panel in its entirety?

I have never been to comicon. It's one of the things I wanna do before I do before I die.

So, now that we're all trying to gear down after that snazzy teaser trailer and an eventful Watchmen-weekend in general, what will they have in store for us at Comic-Con?

I actually thought that the trailer was going to be the highlight of the Comic-Con Watchmen-panel, but it sounds like they're gonna show 3-5 minutes worth of additional footage. That's... pretty groovy.

Can't remember if Snyder mentioned what that might be footage of...

Any ideas?

EDIT: Where's my head? Of course, they're gonna have something better than the trailer, since it's been online for days as well as being attached to TDK.
I guess I just really didn't understand that that "something better" would actually be new footage.

So again... any ideas of what they're gonna show?

Anything will make me happy, Also I can't wait to get a "Mason Auto Repair" shirt :hoboj:

I hope the new footage (if there is some) is released online, but I dont expect it. It will probably end up online in a poor quality bootleg form.

I'm not sure about that, Snyder is a very fan and internet orientated guy, it could be that he releases it online. I hope so.

I remember watching C-Con footage of Iron Man, and it had a good quality. Hope the same happens with Watchmen

Anyone?

Had trouble convincing a friend to drive down to San Diego so no dice for me. This year looks like the year where I would've enjoyed it the most. I was surprised how cheap it was for a 4 day pass.

Well in an interview with Zack and Debbie Snyder, they said they pretty much expect the footage to end up online and dont mind at all. It might not end up online officially, but I think security will be lax enough that we'll be able to get a decent bootleg.

I have a friend going to Comic-Con. I'm asking her to get me some Watchmen stuff already, but I guess I could ask her to report on the big annoucements as well.

I'll be bringing my HD camera, so I'll try and get it, and post it online.

I don't see it as a big deal if footage leaks. We know the plot for the film and with the R-rating, WB needs all the hype build up they can get.

Amen brotha! I want to do the same! I hope someone on here tapes the panel for the Watchmen!

I remember last year there were a couple people in the forum that were going and were hoping to participate in the Q&A. The ending, whether it would remain 100% true was the most important one everyone wanted answered.

Trailer, Comedian shooting JFK, Vietnam sequence, maybe others.
Just a hunch.

New event added for 10 AM on Saturday morning.

Im so pumped for this, I've heard about the "Mason Auto Repair" shirt they'll be giving out. I cant wait for it.

I just hope they have some sweet Watchmen swag at SDCC. A guy I work with is going so I gave him all of my money and a list in hopes that he can snag me some goodies. I told him to keep an eye out for Watchmen stuff - I especially want Comedian's smiley pin, but don't feel like buying one on eBay.
