Comics Flash Thompson as Venom

Hey guys! Hope all is well! What do you think of Flash as Venom? At first I didn't like the idea, and the series so far has its ups and downs, but right now I'm loving it!

I spend a few hours today putting together a review of Venom # 10. Feel free to let me know what you think!

Part of me likes Flash Thompson as Venom, and the other part just wants Eddie Brock back as Venom.

So far, Flash Thompson as Venom has been fantastic, IMO. Remender's writing is great all around on the Venom book and I'm looking foward to more.

Yeah, I guess overall I love the execution of this latest issue. It sorta just clicked in my head why this is working. In the suit, Flash gets to be like his real idol, Spidey. That has got to be a real thrill for him. Also, Project Rebirth is responsible for Flash being in the suit, PR is also how Captain America came to be, so I like that twist as well. Cap is also one of Flash's heroes, more cool connections. I can see how Flash will eventually be on Secret Avengers too. So far all of this is really good!

Unfortunately, unless the Marvel Universe gets rebooted somehow, I don't see Eddie Brook going back to his old ways. Unless he has a complete mental breakdown or something, I don't know... I think he's written too far away from what he was originally, and plus we have Carnage now.

I hope to see Flash as Venom for a while, tbh. Though, as much as I love Anti-Venom, I would like to see Brock return as Venom one day.

Flash Thompson as Venom has been great. Loving every minute of it.

Brock has been perfect in his role as Anti-Venom. Almost wish that he would become a sort of teacher figure and ally for Flash, although I don't know how likely it is. But Flash really works as a young hero and wounded soldier, confined to a wheelchair, who gets to live out his dream of being a superhero while constantly having to fight the "monster" within. There's just an endless number of stories and possibilities for this guy.

I like Flash as Venom, but I want to see him lose control. He has a lot to aim his anger towards, and that would make for some great action and possible drama. But overall I'm impressed.

Thus far, I've enjoyed what they've done with Flash Thompson as Venom. Easily, one of my favorite Marvel books these days.

I really liked what they've done between Flash Thompson and Venom. Remender writes Flash so well and I think has done well with Flash trying to balance the symbiote and him not wanting to lose control, which he has a FEW times. Also love that they've introduced Flash with an arch villain already in Jack O Lantern.

Only downside of the book is in February when they do that .1 thing. Very upsetting and causing me to drop the book that month. Not going to support Marvel and their ridiculous .1 garbage.

Best version of venom in continuity period. Also nice to see an actual soldier from current times as a superhero. Plus a disabled person being a hero that doesn't gain a superpower from his disability (daredevil, looking at you) is a nice change up since they killed off the only other one (hornet)

I agree and to add to that, the execution of the last few issues has gotten way better.

my only complaint came when the series tied in with Spider Island, which....I didn't read. I don't want to read, and I have very little knowledge of what happened...so it was kinda wonky for me-but I got the gist of it.

Agreed, I see Venom joining the Secret Avengers....

Yeah, I didn't read Spider-Island either and was dissapointed with the one of the fights ending in an ASM issue.

I'm also stoked to see Flash in Secret Avengers. I didn't even know about it until I browsed IGN and saw that Remender is taking over with next week's issue. Must read.

I collected the original Venom series but lost track after it ended. I'm not completely up to date on what happened with Eddie Brock and Venom but Flash as Venom seems pretty cool so far. I do miss Eddie Brock but this new story has me interested. It's good to see a cool Venom series again.

For myself(as well as alot of people)Eddie Brock will ALWAYS be the true Venom. But...I do like what they've done with Flash and the symbiote,and Eddie as Anti-Venom. I do hope,however,the one day Eddie will become Venom again.

I think Remender's skill is probably the main reason I'm enjoying the current Venom Series so much. Flash makes for an interesting host, but one thing that annoys me to no end is how the Symbiote is often portrayed as little more than a rabid animal, when in the past it's been shown to be very intelligent and articulate.
I wish they'd give it a little more personality than just, "Hey Guys, it's a Play-Doh Xenomorph!"

...And yes, I am aware that the symbiote's depiction is intentional. I read it in an interview Remender gave a while back.

I love new Venom. Flash is a cool hero. However, given the recent developments, I would like to see him come out on top, soon. He's constantly spiralling downward, and I really would like to see Flash rise above!

I think he will, the issues with alcohol and his dad are something he's dealing with so he's at a down spot but when he figures them out he'll be doing better than ever. Well until the next issue happens.
