I've been missing out on Flashpoint. As you guys know I'm mainly a Batman fan, so what do I need to get to get a better understanding of what happened with him (and Superman).

The main series, Batman: Knight of Vengeance, and Project Superman pretty much.

Note: Not sure if you're aware, but the Batman, Superman, and everyone are different versions than the versions in the relaunch.

Yeah I got that, but why would that effect current events? And is it even in continuity? I guess on another world right?

No. Flash screwed up the timeline by going back in time to save his mum then going back in time again to stop himself from saving his mum .

Um... That's kind of a big reveal in the last issue, dude... In a thread for a guy asking about the event.

Anyhow, the Flashpoint events lead to the alterations between the old universe and the new universe as the in-story explanation for the relaunch.
