Footloose remake?! NOOOOOO!

Looks okay, I guess. Pretty much like a carbon copy of the original.

I'll say this for it though. At least they got an Ariel that is hottttt. In the original, Ariel looked like a trailer trash skank.

ive never seen the original and im almost 26. its not like ive ever tried not to see it, i just havent. never saw grease until i was already out of high school too. so MAYBE id see this one but i dont mind remakes, i think theres too many people that bash remakes cuz they think the studios are trying to outdo the originals. its just guna be a different version is all so if thats the first one i see, oh well lol

Soooo.... carbon copy of the original + Step Up dance moves. :o

I thought it looked okay.

The original was pretty good (for what it was) and surprisingly dark.

I'm not out to punch holes in this movie's boat, but I'm not super interested either. At the end of the day, it's just an LT...no Bacon.

Good thing I already have the exact same thing on DVD. Two less movie tickets from my fiancee and me to spend money on.

Looks just like any other dance flick that has come out in the past 8 years
zzzzzzzzz snore zzzzzzzzzzzzz

If you take out the footloose name and never saw the original then you would think this is step up 4. Its sad too had dancing has devolved since the original, Im just over guys acting like there having seizures while dancing and women just shaking there arse at the camera.

I saw the original in the theater. It was one of my favorite movies growing up, and it's still a really good movie now. So, screw this version. There was no need to make this again. :down

in the original movies everyone looked like a pro dancer ?

this looks stupid. Seeing the poster, I assumed they were going to grow a pair and have it take place in the 50s/60s. How silly I was. The only thing working for this movie is the chick and Dennis Quaid.

I almost fell out of my chair laughing when I caught the clip of the guy doing his version of Bacon's angry dance, which has already been superseded by this:

I think I never see this movie but I know about it ( not the story ).

I have to ask, was it real that in the 80' in some state dance and rock'n roll were illegal ?

The original Footloose was loosely based on a real town in Oklahoma that banned dancing for 100 years, due to religious reasons. They lifted the ban in 1980, in time for that year's senior prom.

What confuses me is that it's half a meticulous remake (clothes, car, script) and then it's half reboot with new things. It's just...i dunno...lazy, half-assed pandering to two generations.

Yeah, it seems like they basically remade the same movie with an updated soundtrack, which makes a remake even more pointless.

Remaking Footloose is just a plain and stupid idea, the thing with the original movie is that it was a product of it's time and accompanied by an excellent soundtrack of top recording artists.

A new version now in the present would need really big help from some really good songs and not just throaways to sell a soundtrack.

I saw the Beetle and

Then I saw he was wearing the exact same outfit as Kevin Bacon

Why even bother? I understand how people hate remakes that go so far off the original it shouldn't even be called a remake, but this is borderline laziness. Forget the fact it shouldn't have been made at all.

I always get Footloose and Dirty Dancing mixed up. Never saw the original movie but I hope the Kenny Loggins song is in there in some form or another.

I read that a Dirty Dancing remake is in the works too. :csad:

Yeah, it's a dumb movie. Though I guess I do have a soft spot for it because back when I was a stage actor I played the Chuck Cranston (badass redneck jerk) character in two different productions. And it was the first movie I ever saw Kevin Bacon in, so that's something.

Hey, do the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon apply to actors that star in a remake of a Bacon movie?

you do not remake movies that kevin bacon has starred in
that is the definition of blaspheme
