I'm sure this will seem in left field but I remember the past arguments about M Night Shyamalan directing Superman and people were afraid he'd put a twist on it.

I almost feel Singer gave us the kind of Superman movie M Night would have. Anyone else ever think that?

I mean the color palette wasn't all that different from Unbreakable imo. Also having the kid be Superman's, well that seems like a new direction that M Night would have taken.

*scratches head*

hmm

Sorry, I don't feel that at all. I feel that Singer gave us a horrible film with no one else to blame but himself.

I think M. Night Shamalamadingdong (or whatever) would have given us a film we could appreciate, as he was a fan who was familiar with the comics and other sources besides the Donner film. Singer was not familiar with the other sources, and in is infinite overabundance of ego, did not take the time to read the comics, watch STAS or any other sources besides the Donner film. This resulted in a boring lackluster film which has not performed as well as hoped at the box office.

I believe M. Night understood the character more than Singer, and could possibly have provided a better film than Singer did. Singer had all the resources available, and brought forth a visually stunning, and yet boring storyline.

There was a bit of signs in there with the silent starrring and Jason acted a little like that kid from sixth sense so I kind of get what you mean.

and it's funny your sig has dialogue from the trailer but that was never said in the movie. I liked that line.

Yeah wey, that's a damn shame

As for Shyamalan I wanted him to direct for the longest time. We can only speculate if his movie would have been better. I'm sure he would have done at origin story which would have satisfied some of the disgruntled fans.

At least the hero in Unbreakable did throw a few punches and strangled a bad guy till he got unconcious and could be arrested by the police.

Supes would probably stop moping about the fact the woman of his dreams move on and actually fight a super bad guy who would match him in strengh...

But we can only speculate.

I was a big fan of M. Night directing the project, but the only similarity would is the tone and feel of the enviorment and the fact that Singer treated every moment of Superman on screen as a "sighting". M. Night would have told an origin of Superman.

As much as I liked Superman Returns, an M. Night Shyamalan SUperman film would have crushed it into dust.

After his last 2 films...I'm not so sure of that.

that right there just made me fall in love with you. dammit pickle, that was for saint.I'm probably the biggest unbreakable fan on this board. I recorded it on those ancient machines called VCR's and I rewatched it probably every day for a month or so. but..................

Though I'm hesitant to want him because of the village and what I hear about Lady in the water. I fell asleep during the village and I'm not really feeling like seeing lady in the water.

But if he can do to superman what we got in unbreakable, but maintain the spirt of the comic, I think he could have pulled it off brilliantly with a new version for a new generation much like a Superman Begins type of film would be.

Superman: "I X-Ray vision dead people!!!"

I actually forgot M Night was interested......don't know how that would've turned out.........but then again, I was excited when I heard Singer was going to direct.......
