Forever Evil

No kidding? I always thought Thomas Wayne, Jr, was a Snyder/New 52 creation.

Oh well, not knowing that sure made this issue much more enjoyable for me

Thomas Wayne Jr has been around since the 60's I think, before the Crisis which wiped him out until Infinite Crisis sort of restored him as Simon Hurt.

Scott Snyder's is a amalgamation of the two it seems.

Since when was Simon Hurt Bruce's brother? In Morrison's run he was a distant Wayne.

I said Infinite Crisis sort of restored him. The only thing about his character massively altered was his ancestry, but the classic hallmarks are there: Evil Thomas Wayne, from Willowwood Asylum, treated for illnesses by Thomas Wayne (Bruce's dad).

Anyway, off topic. Who thinks Bruce will get into a fight with Dick?

Why would they fight?

And did you see how easily Owlsie took down Night Wing??

Nightwing could side with Owlman long enough to end up a little brainwashed.

Dick was ambushed by a ruthless Wonder Woman and Batman analogue from an evil universe, and probably deprived of food for days. I'd hardly say that was a fair fight.

exactly, we should be thrilled he even had the energy to fight at all.

So far FE hasn't really impressed me. The biggest thing it's done for me is rip out Capt. Cold's powers, which is interesting. I'm not reading any tie in's apart from The Rouges and the JLD/Constantine/etc stuff, so I assume the Nightwing stuff has been followed up in his own book?

On The Rouges stuff I'm loving that. They're a pretty bickering team, but I can't help but love them for being that little bit pathetic. Can't wait to see how they tackle Ivy and what they get up to next!

Nightwing's book takes place prior to Forever Evil. His story has been minimal, restricted to Forever Evil and the newest issue of Justice League.

I'll give you that....good point. Dick is weakened....but I still don't see him taking Owlsie, since Owlman is Batman's equal....and Dick cant beat Bats.

But I Don't see Dick being brainwashed.....I think he told Owlsie he'd work with him simply because he considered his options. "If stopping the Syndicate means I gotta pretend to be this guy's friend, then I'll do it."

Owlman seems a bit vulnerable emotionally in that area. Thus I see Dick using that as an opening.

I caught up with Justice League and both #24 and #25 were really good, especially #25.

The original Doom Patrol is referenced in #24. It makes me excited for a potential new series.

I'm waiting for a good fight with the Crime Syndicate. They've just been hanging about, talking. Deathstorm, for me, has been the only member to really feel threatening.

Rouges stuff is fantastic. Got my awesome Captain Cold figure a few weeks ago:hrt:

I really liked trinity war, and Forever evil doesn't disappoint. I have to admit though, that I'm especially impressed by the justice league tie-ins. johns is really in top form. The owlman/nightwing fight was really good, it shows how brave Dick is, considering he was already beaten and weakened, he still managed to give Owlman a fight. I really hope he shines in the final issues.

That was not a fight. He tried. But owls didn't break a sweat. He just kept casually talking and put Dick down in 5 sec.

I don't know about you guys and gals but Forever Evil #4 was awesome along with Justice League #26 shedding some light on the Crime Syndicates past. I like this event a lot!

I'm gonna faint........we agre on something! LOL

Yeah, Constantine's cover was more misleading. But it was still good.

They did it again!! What's with the misleading covers???

The brief Sinestro fight was not in JL#26! It was at he end of FE #4!

That aside....this is picking up steam....I like Luthor figuring out Ultraman's weakness! And the hooded prisoner is working with Owlman ???

Agreed awesome issues, great event.

yeah who is the hooded man? And who said "soon" him? It's either the Outsider or Superwoman.

I hope it is someone other than Luthor or anyone related to Batman or Superman. And the only downfall for FE right now is that it is just taking so long. Wish they would do some double shipping.

God, no. Enough with the double shipping already. That's the prime reason for my dropping so many Marvel titles. It's killed my budget.

Agreed, I like that it's taking a while because it's allowing the right amount if suspense to build and it's making me actually want to know who the man in the good is.

I actually think it's being dragged out way too long tbh. Still enjoying it but really issue #4 for example didn't do anything at all to really advance the plot. Some good character development though.

A shot in the dark but I think the hooded guy is going to be Alexander Luthor Sr.

Superwoman is really in cahoots with him which is why she's pitting Owlman and Ultraman against one another. She's pregnant with his child Alexander Luthor Jr. which will explain his powers since there is no megawave in the New 52 and still make Jr. the son of Earth 3 Lois and Lex Luthor. She's the one who said "soon". The twist is this version is just as warped as the mainstream Lex Luthor. No opposite here. Luthor will always be Luthor.

I really really really hate Johnny Quick and Atomica and not in a "great villains I love to hate" way they're just like extra obnoxious. A lame Mickey and Malory retread that's bordering on self parody with their grimdarkness. My wish is that Johns who is a gore nut when it comes to events has Bizzaro soul clap Atomica to death in his hands and Captain Cold freeze the ever loving crap out of Johnny Quick.

Deathstorm's origin was sickly awesome though. Stein was always 2 steps away from being a mad scientist anyway. So it adds up. Poor Power Ring though getting tentacled raped every time he needs to recharge. I'm guessing Volthoom is in control of the Earth 3 entity of compassion which has control over the entire spectrum. I could be overthinking it though.

Can't wait to see Cyborg 2.0 I hope his new look is much more streamlined than Jim Lee's clunky mess.
