Sequels Fox Teams Tim Miller, Brian Michael Bendis Für 'X-Men' Mystery Project '143'

Cue *****ing. But in all seriousness, isn't this probably just the Shadowcat movie? In Uncanny X-Men 143, Shadowcat was left alone at the Xavier Estate and was attacked by a N'Garai that remained on Earth after Kierrok was defeated by Storm. She then destroys monster by blowing up a Blackbird. This is pretty clearly the Shadowcat movie.

Could this be that Kitty Pryde project Tim was working on? Maybe 143 could be a reference to that Holiday themed Kitty issue.

Yeah, this just sounds like an update on the Kitty Pryde film, really.

Oh god, Kitty in Bendis' hands again...

well it's still possible this project doesn't see light of day.miller is doing temrinator next which will keep him busy till summer of 2019 inless sale to disney is topped by government or comcast outbids disney's offer to murdocks
it would be around may/june 2019 it would be approved so it probally wouldn't happen with x-men films under control of feige.

I'd be surprised if this even happens especially with the Disney deal. Unless Fox films this in this less than 17 months.

Gee it's a bit like boarding a sinking ship at this point isn't it?

Hopefully it's the shadowcat movie. Or maybe they're secretly in charge of the reboot which would be incredible! Would love a minority director for that though

Was looking forward to this with Tim Directing but...Bendis???

Not a fan of this guys X-Men runs at all unless he was focusing on Magik.

Yeah, the new Terminator film is believed to start filming next month and has a 26th July 2019 release date, Miller is unlikely to be dropping out now and by the time he is free the Disney deal should be sorted. I can't see leaving the Terminator this close to production and its important to remember that James Cameron will be involved with this one so it could be big for Miller's career if it goes well.

I wonder what someone like Miller is thinking when jumping on board. Does he sincerely believe it'll happen? Is the project protected in any way if the deal goes ahead? Is it maybe a strategic move to have stock in X-Men when it changes hands?

I think if Millar is smart, or any new director for the matter, they would somehow connect with Deadpool "universe", either using a character from that cast, planning something after the first movie. I mean, if there is a great and cool plan to somehow connect to Deadpool, and Fox knows it and likes it.... it may help the director to keep his job if Marvel take control keeping Deadpool movies and only 1 or 2 other movies at maximum.

based on what president of fox has said this project defently isn't happening.inless gambit finds director quick and meets june 2019 release date last xmcu film is certain to be x-force.then it is rebooted and i am done with films when feige ruins x-men like he did spider-man.

Yeah Bendis had me concerned, good thing though this likely won't go far given the possible circumstances in the not so distant future.

And why not just develop a X-Men film with Kitty instead of a freaking solo?? This isn't the Avengers. The appeal of the X-Men is they are an ensemble.

I'm all for a Kitty movie, but yeah not a fan of Bendis on X-Men. Miller being attached still is enough for me to have confidence.

We just haven't seen a film in which Kitty is one of the top players in the film. Like she's a secondary character in X3/4. And now that they have decided to give her a lead role, its in a freaking solo which fewer people would watch compare to a X-Men ensemble film. And I'm pretty sure the reason behind this is a solo film is much cheaper to produce than an ensemble film like Days of Future Past and Dark Phoenix, so Fox gave Miller the opportunity to do it.

Well, that's what people said about Deadpool. What matters is that it's good and brings something fresh to the table. That's what audiences care about.

Actually she had quite a decent role in both X3/DoFP and had more to do in both over say Storm, Rogue, Cyclops etc DoFP wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for Kitty.

Agreed 100%

Her purpose in X3 was to make Rogue jealous and suddenly cry about Xavier's death and be a X-Man in the climax. Her introduction wasn't exactly great compare to Nightcrawler in X2 or Beast in X3.

While Dofp wasn't motivated by Kitty. They want to do the story and it wasn't because of their love for Kitty. And in those two films, she was still a supporting character unlike in the comics that she had a major role.

Deadpool isnt a core member of the X-Men. He operates more as a solo hero more than a member of a team. Again, the likes of Kitty and Gambit are no Wolverine, Deadpool and Spider-Man to headline a solo film.

Also the hellboy movies were good but didn't light up the box office. Not every X-Man should get a solo film especially if its just gonna get away with doing an ensemble team film with characters like Remy and Kitty appearing in it.
