FOX's The Exorcist

The twist, yeah, but I think it was also to sell the character's arc of a woman who successfully reinvented herself and thought she had left that trauma of her youth far behind her, only to have the rug ripped out from under her. I think if [blackout]Blair[/blackout] was playing the character, her deception would be clear from the get-go. No matter what name she had been going by, the audience would look at her and go "Oh, that's [blackout]Regan[/blackout]".

I feel like my one minor negative in all this is that Sharon Gless reads more like Geena Davis' older sister than she does her mother.

Back tonight.

Good episode, this show hasn't dropped off for me at all. :)

This show keeps getting stranger. I love it though. What exactly is the goal of the group summoning the demons?

I've been wondering what the hell is the point of the rich lady with the sick husband in the main scheme of things, so I'm intrigued by this turn.

Binged the first five episodes yesterday and just saw six. Pleasantly surprised how enjoyable this is .

If Max von Sydow shows up and it turns out Father Maron didn't die I will **** myself.

I'd had a feeling she was up to no good, I just hadn't expected a secret evil society.

She's had a weird feeling to her since she turned up, but I'm not sure what they gain by turning Father Tomas. Unless they just fear he has it in him to stop what is going on. I can't imagine solving this with Casey will end everything though, as it seems demons are becoming very prominent.

It's been a while since I've seen the original film, but was the demon Pazuzu named in the original film? I know it was said in that god-awful Exorcist II, but I'm wondering if Reagan will remember it since she was supposed to think of anything she remembers about her possession. And since they keep bringing up revenge, I have to assume Pazuzu is the demon inside Casey, or has some involvement in this. Would be interesting if it was a separate demon planted inside her, like the Gemini Killer was put inside Father Karas in The Exorcist III.

Even though it was Reagan's mother, that shot mimicking the original film in the ending to episode 5 was fantastic.

So I'm surprised no one talked about the most recent episode. Things aren't looking good for Casey.

I was almost convinced they were going to mercy kill her, but I figured this show is still looking to do some sort of redemption.

Not sure what will happen with Bennett, but he was pretty much a badass taking down some of those guys. Guess we know now the point of the woman and her dying husband, as basically a front to funnel money into their Satanic cult.

Pretty good episode, we've only got a few left, can't wait to see where it all ends up. And I'm hoping we do get a second season, this show has turned out so much better than expected.

Yeah I am sincerely surprised how much I am enjoy this show, it's been great. Hope it continues and finishes strong. Would love another season.

I dunno I just read in EW magazine that not many people are watching. If they cancel this I'm going to be seriously bummed. :(

I think that was from the end of September to the beginning of October (when the ratings dropped), I'm sure it's picked up by now.

I think it may depend on how badly Sleepy Hollow does when it returns. We will get the whole season.

The ending of tonight's episode! Damn! Next episode December 9th.

Indeed. :p December is too long away. :(

I was half expecting Tomas to demon out and start shredding Jessica's husband like Casey did with the guy on the train, but of course [blackout]Regan/Angela[/blackout] being the one the demon jumped into makes more sense.

I kind of expected it, but it was still done well enough where I was still like "damnnnnn!"

3 weeks!? Ugh, I get Thanksgiving weekend, but what is taking up the following Friday?

Father Bennett was surprisingly badass.

Curse you captain howdy. I saw the twist coming

I hope Bennett makes it. He's one of my favorite characters. Geese, the wait is getting to me already.
