FOX's The Exorcist

Doesn't really appear to be, though I think she is up for those kind of cameos. She was in a Supernatural episode (granted, this was way back in season 2).

I take it that the demonic spirit in this new series is the same one from the original?

There are 2 or 3 demonic spirits so far. The one in Casey, and the one in the homeless lady. And the old creeper guy with Casey may be a separate demon that is watching over Casey's possession but is not actually the demon that is inside her.

I'm willing to bet tho that Pazuzu is involved somehow.

This show is surprisingly watchable. I was expecting a real ****fest, but color me impressed.

There was also that one guy at St. Aquinas. If the one homeless guy is possessed, then there are a LOT more possessed people right now. Don't forget the [BLACKOUT]organ harvesting scene[/BLACKOUT]. I'm thinking he isn't, because he was jealous of Casey. Of course, Casey's could just be a higher level demon.

Does anyone else think the image they are using for the Pope's visit is somewhat ominous?

Hope the ratings are at least consistent with last week tonight. I doubt it gets renewed past this season, but I at least would like it to play out, rather than get snatched off a few episodes in.

I'm surprised this show got away with what it did in the last episode. Wow, that was grotesque for regular TV. Hope they keep that up.

Are the ratings that bad?

They're not great, but on the plus side, neither is anything else on FOX outside of Empire night AND it airs Friday, so I'm sure the expectations are low, but still...

I'd be unhappy if this goes quick. :( I'm really liking it.

Finally caught up. Really getting interesting.

The sister is going to call the cops or social services or do something equally meddlesome. I completely understand why she would. From her perspective her sister is psychologically very sick and her parents have chained her in a room and have gone super religious with rogue priests. But as a viewer knowing that there really is a demon tormenting Casey, the sister's meddling is just going to frustrate me.

That is if the show isn't cancelled before the sister does something meddlesome.

According to Slater's twitter, tonight is supposed to be a big one.

Absolutely LIVING for that twist, if for no other reason than to explain why [blackout]Angela so easily jumped to "My daughter needs an exorcism" at the start of the series, when everything was pretty low-key at that point.

Of course possession is her first thought.... she already experienced it herself[/blackout].

Then of course, there is the fact that it means that [blackout]the events of the film are no longer just some other event that took place in a different location, at a different time. There's actually a direct line between the film and the show.[/blackout]

Skipping a week? Nnnooo! :(

:wow::wow::wow::wow::wow::wow:

Yeah, that twist totally caught me by surprise. And it makes complete sense. I love that the movie is now integral to the plot (though I'm assuming the sequels are out, though I am curious about the second novel). I love it. And now Chris McNeil returns next episode. And I hope we get more of those past segments that show how she tried to use Regan/Angela for gain after that experience. The only bad thing about it is that now, Linda Blair can't return as Regan. And now I understand who the "she" the demon really wants.

Was a bit worried that Henry might've been possessed, but I'm guessing that Casey just said her real name. And the makeup of full possessed Casey was great, and I'm loving her possessed voice.

Now, just get me more of the classic theme.

I didn't watch last nights episode yet cause I had work and I'm working again now. But it's on my dvr will probably get to it tonight.

I feel bad for Linda Blair since she was wanting to do the show.

Watching the episode on my dvr now. UGH the ****ing sister called the god damn cops, you idiot!

Also watching on my DVR, I hate the sister. Yes in the real world there's still be skepticism but she had no right to that. At least now I know how this can be ten episodes when they started the exorcism this episode.

Holy...that twist was great.

You guys said it all. Dat twist though :hrt: Man this show has pleasently surprised me I am loving it.

I was thinking why they didn't get Linda Blair to do it, now i know why. The twist would have been seen a mile away.

The twist, yeah, but I think it was also to sell the character's arc of a woman who successfully reinvented herself and thought she had left that trauma of her youth far behind her, only to have the rug ripped out from under her. I think if [blackout]Blair[/blackout] was playing the character, her deception would be clear from the get-go. No matter what name she had been going by, the audience would look at her and go "Oh, that's [blackout]Regan[/blackout]".
