Sci-Fi Francis Ford Coppola's MEGALOPOLIS

Eh, I never ever go into a film viewing hoping it’s bad or that it fails. Regardless, if I don’t particularly like the director or actors etc. Coppola could have retired after Apocalypse Now and still be considered a legend. I’m bummed to say that this was simply a mess. Not even a bad is so good type of a mess, simply an abomination. Adam Driver is so bad here that it’s cringeworthy to see and sit through. Plaza and Shia are the mvps here but in a pile of garbage, there is food out there that can still be edible I suppose. Nathalie Emmanuelle was simply sent to the gallows without any help, she is bad-bad.

I’m in awe of Coppola for choosing his ‘’artistic freedom’’ first and foremost. How could he not at this point? How could this old master not sail against the winds and triumph as he has done so many times beforehand in his career. As he almost lost his mind in them jungles. I’m saddened to see an old master die on this hill, for nothing,,,but he did it his way and on his terms, How could I not buy a ticket and see it on the big screen for him. Honestly, I’m kinda glad I did, as it won’t last much time on the big screen and neither will him. I’m sad that this is how he gets to say goodbye, but in a weird way, I’m glad I was there to see him go.

So at what point does Adam Driver fire his agent because, man, the guy has been picking some real stinkers lately.

Driver very openly praised and defended Coppola numerous times during and after production of Megalopolis. I'm sure it was a dream come true working with him and he probably couldn't care less about reviews and word of mouth for this specific film.

Driver is more than likely in no way mad at his agent cause he wanted to work with Coppola.

Glad this movie is flopping. Coppola defended convicted child predator Victor Salva. Coppola paid for his defence attorney, had a smear campaign ran against salva's victim and had him blacklisted from the industry.

Alright.

I am convinced that Coppola didn't actually write dialogue for Driver and just let him do and say whatever he wanted. Aubrey Plaza was stunning at least, but this film certainly didn't trust its audience to follow along without spelling everything out for you. I can't say I was bored at least!
So you're saying some green would make this an awesome experience?

Ngl, this is the excuse I would see him use to work with someone like Roman Polanski, too.

I mean, Showgirls is a classic. But not because it is good. Very much the opposite, lol! It's a hysterical watch

My dad is actually taking my mom to see this today for her birthday. So at one person is paying to see this.
