Sci-Fi Francis Ford Coppola's MEGALOPOLIS

How does this even have 45% on RT? I feel like that's an incredibly generous score for a completely incomprehensible movie.

It goes to show that film criticism is more about going in with a fore-knowledge about an artist/movie, rather judging a film on its own merits. If people didn't know FFC made this movie, the reviews would be way worse.
 
I can see it on the merits that it feels like it was made by an auteur filmmaker and wasn't some studio hack job like Kraven The Hunter. So I can see critics being more kind on that basis alone.

But it also doesn't mean the movie is good simply for existing either. It's trash lol

Yeah, I'm sure there was a lot of "This sucks, but he made The Godfather and Apocalypse Now"
