Peter Weller is obviously still typecasted as RoboCop in the minds of some people. I recommend watching, if you are an adult, Peter Weller as Stan Liddy on Dexter to dispel that robot perception of him.

I'd rather just keep watching Naked Lunch and Screamers.

Good thing you came all the way to express that and literally add NOTHING CONSTRUCTIVE to the conversation.

He was also awesome as the villain in that episode of Enterprise...

Still a robot though. ;)

I'm excited for this but I'm curious as to why they couldn't just wait to release both parts as one.

I'll just quote myself here...

WB only gives a (rough) 75 minute budget for each feature and due to declining sales for the line they don't seem willing to expand it.

So it was either:

- Squeeze the entire story into a 75 min runtime.
- Split it into two parts
- Not do it at all.

This was the best option all round.

Thanks for the explanation.

I know what your trying to say though, why couldn't they just release both parts in a double pack release?

I guess... money is the simple answer to that.

Yeah, me too. I'm not really fond of the cover we're getting. It's not bad art or anything, it just doesn't resemble the book.

Yeah it looks a bit silly. Not sure why they didn't at least use the art-style from the movie

I'm positive they wanted something that looks more like the Batman we see on the big screen these days.

Jose Alcaraz posted on the Facebook page, "Wal-Mart will be releasing the exclusive 2 Disc DVD set. Best Buy will be releasing the Blu-ray Combo Pack with an action figure."
http://www.facebook.com/BatmanTheDarkKnightReturns
Green Lantern: Emerald Knights and Superman vs. the Elite did have their Two-Disc DVD sets released exclusively through Walmart.
http://www.walmart.com/ip/20655978
However the Walmart website has the Batman: The Dark Knight Returns - Part 1 Single-Disc DVD and the Blu-Ray Combo Pack listed for preorders, with no Two-Disc DVD set listed for preorder.

So at this point it's looking like Warner is canceling the Two-Disc DVD set option. But the Walmart site is also mistakenly listing the Single-Disc DVD as a Blu-Ray, so their site isn't so reliable for accurate info on the Batman: The Dark Knight Returns - Part 1 items at this point.

I've never seen a DCAU film that I haven't loved...Can't wait for this

Hopefully its Newbern or Daly. I enjoy the classic voices, but I actually didn't mind Mark Harmon from JL:CoTE so I wouldn't mind him either.

It won't be any of the DCAU voice actors...

But if they did cast anyone from the DCAU, Christopher McDonald wouldn't be a bad choice.

I can NOT wait for this!

I can't express enough how much I hate this comic/movie.

Yeah, same here. I gave it two chances read the first graphic novel twice and the sequel once. They didn't do anything for me.

I disliked many things very heavily.

Batman refers Robin as a soldier for some reason. His "death", the destruction of Wayne Manor and Alfred dying.

The one redeeming factor of it is Batman laying the smack down on Superman, but he doesn't even succeed because of the pill he took before the fight.

Always wanted to know why he took that pill, can't remember.

I do, however, owe the graphic novel thanks.

Frank Miller made Batman, well, Batman again.

No blue costume, no "old chum", just the relentless pursuit for justice in an unjust and broken Gotham, but despite all this novel did for batman, I still do not like it.

The virtues that made Batman are all gone. Especially, when he snapped Joker's neck, at least he decided to keep him alive, until Joker killed himself.

Year One, also done by Miller, is one of my favorite Novels, but my favorite goes to Long Halloween.

I put in my vote for that to be animated next.

Also, it is not my intention to insult or offend those who like this novel. I am merely voicing my opinion.

If I offended you, I apologize.

Batman refers Robin as a soldier because he always deemed his crusade as a war. He took the pill againts Superman, because he couldn't defeat him and thus they had to fake his death, despite Superman working for the government, he still chose to not tell his secret.

I don't get your "old chum" complaiment, since the book was still filled with alot of humor, especially in the dialogue.

Your favorite Batman book is a story where Batman is a complete idiot however, that was amusing to learn. :p I mean, you dislike changes because you don't accept them, but you can totally buy the idea that Batman is the worst detective out there? Despite Year One showing his talents? Whaaaat?
